Hermione couldn't bear to stay in Britain after the war. But she left a wake of questions behind her as well as a best friend who missed her very much. What happens when he eventually decides to track her down in an entirely new environment? Can they renew their friendship? Could it be something more?

Something happened in the Forest of Dean once Ron left. Over the course of their eighth year, Hermione's been determined to ignore it until Harry takes matters into his own hands by insisting he needs help with his NEWTs. [ONESHOT.]

Halloween 1981 and the Potter family has been attacked. But when Sirius arrives, the crib is empty. Harry is missing, presumed dead, but Mipsy knows the truth. She takes care of little master just as Lord Potter's portrait commands her to.

"This can never happen again," he warned quietly, waving a hand between the two of them indicatively. Hermione nodded emphatically in agreement, not daring to say a word lest she be terribly rude. Or vomit. Either was an option. Hermione wondered why she had a terrible sinking feeling inside to think that it still might.

The summer after Hermione's 6th year begins with her coming to the realization that she is not her parents' daughter. Follow Hermione as she comes to terms with who she is and where she comes from. Hermione felt the pounding in her ears again. She would see him for the first time since the Great Hall, gaunt and stricken at the Slytherin table with his mother clutching his arm. She hadn't meant to look for him. Not in the corridors, not beneath the white sheets of the fallen, not on the way to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron, but she was a stupid girl.

Very loosely based on the Reptilia28 Don't Fear the Reaper Death Challenge, whereby Harry gets to relive his life. As do a couple of other people. What effect does this have on Harry's life and the Voldemort Blood wars? Not a Discworld crossover, but the story did cry out for some guest appearances by Death's granddaughter.
