Hello to you all. I am The Critical Eye. While I do have an older account on here, I have grown tired with typing up fan fictions, and have decided to become a beta and critic of the stories that crop up. Now, while I hardly think of myself as a master of literature, I certainly do believe that I could do better than some of the writers on this site, and I would like to help those who are in need of it to improve their stories.

A fan fiction can be written intelligently, and can be entertaining, but not when it has terrible OCs, grammar, spelling errors and an ignorance of the plot of the original fandom. These can all be solved with kind, but firm reviews that point out the flaws in a manner that does not flame, but simple teaches. I am not a flamer. I am not a hater of fandom. I am simply here to review, and hopefully raise the bar for the fan fictions here. After all, there is a reason why other sites refer to this place as 'the pit of voles'.

For those of you who do not know why, it is because of the lack of attention to original plots. The creation of the terrible Mary Sues and destruction of a cannon characters personality. It is because of bad spelling and murdered grammar. No one is perfect, as many will argue, but one can still put effort into improving, and strive for that perfection. To make the excuse "Well, I'm not perfect" is to revel in your mediocrity as an author, and to happily stagnate in a pool of "Kawaii ur so awsom rite moar pls!!1desu =@w@=

So please, do not take what I send you as hate mail or a a sign that I hate you or your fandom. Instead, see it for what it is: an interest in your fan fiction, and the wish for you to grow as a writer, and hopefully break out of the fan fiction world and start to write more original works.

I frequently lurk at fandomination.net, and find some of my future critique targets there. If you are interesting in seeing what goes on there, simply make an account and see. They will only let you read certain sotries if you have an account there, this is why I mention it.
