![]() Author has written 3 stories for Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X, and Mass Effect. 8-10-12: I did it. I deleted all of my GOD AWFUL stories. It was kind of hard at first but they really were terrible. I just want to start anew and begin creating better stories for you all to read. Thanks for all those who read and reviewed them but I just feel embarrassed knowing someone might have read them at one point. It's okay though! I have new stories/adventures coming up soon! [hint: Mass Effect story in progress]! 9-6-2011: Okay. I lied. I might be going on a sliiiiight HIATUS. I know, I'm a failure. [exasperated sigh] 4-16-2011: Yikes. It's been awhile since I've been up here. Well, I've decided, more or less, to direct my attention on cleaning up the bio I had written when I was 12-years-old. I'm going to start removing stories that I feel aren't ever going to be updated again until I finish the stuff I have now. [I'm sure all of you know that I have this wondrous tendency to create new stories and then never update them. It's horridly evil of me; I know. I'm going to start, I believe, tomorrow on getting to at least one chapter for each story]... My stories need a darker sense of fatality to cover up its absurdity, [or, I can just delete them by pressing the delete button]... I apologize if anybody was considerate enough to review or favourite these stories; it truly did mean the world to me, and still does to this day. I just feel as though the mortification I possess for some of my stories is too great to overlook. Aren't people entitled to reading superior stories [and not stories written by a nauseating 11-year-old who held a penchant for creating Mary Sues?] Nonetheless, I'm not announcing a HIATUS, but if my life gets even more frenetic than it already is, trouble shall be in the offing. We'll just have to see what happens, won't we? In addition, I have rewritten many chapters of my stories to convey the messages I want to communicate to others at my current age. I, personally, am of the opinion that what I have recently written is poles apart from what I had written when I was a hormonal adolescent. So, yippee! 000 Personal Info: When I first joined this site, I guesstimate that I was around 11-years-old and overly irritating. At present, I am now 16-years-old and still overly irritating; however, I'm irritating in the aspect of being cute with dimples. [Joy!] Hence, I surmise that some of the chapters I have written have gotten more thought provoking and complex both in potency and format. I live in the glorious metropolitan area of New York City, and I love video games with a sick passion. My self-assurance in writing is low at best [I'm liable to re-write chapters incessantly because I feel they aren't worthy of being read, and I constantly complain about stupid stuff that no one cares about. I adore reviews as much as the next writer, and would not mind any literary appraisal you may have in store; just throw it at me, baby! Um, I'm hoping to take AP classes in English, and if I somehow managed to pop a lung that prevented me from singing, I'd love to be an author and lock myself in a bathroom all day long writing. Writings: My stories are very random, indeed. None of them are even close to being finished, and I am prone to writing chapters that are the equivalent of a Leo Tolstoy book (however, I'm only speaking of length. If I were as good a writer as he, my well-upholstered arse would be somewhere else, hahahahah ... ha). You'll discover that the stories I have yet to rewrite are prolix and discursive, and you'll want to beat your head in with a spoon. So, don't say I didn't warn you if you chance upon them. I was an 11-year-old fan-girl who used the thesaurus a lot. [Okay, I'm still a fan-girl but I digress]... Something Good Comes From Something Damaged (or, SGCFSD): I love this story with all my heart; it's one of my preferred stories on here. It is your typical get-sucked-into-video-game novel with a twist. I felt horrible writing this because a good speechwriter or novelist would steer clear of platitudes. Still, stories of such calibre have become almost a commonplace of public literary writing out here. I just really wanted to do something like this for a while. I attempted to make it as captivating as possible, because I know for a fact that there are billions (not millions: billions) of stories like these everywhere you turn. You want a story that brings something new to the imaginary table, and I hope that is what I did. I'm in the process of rewriting, so feel free to read; but, as mentioned earlier, not all of them are fully rewritten yet. Be cautious. (SGCFSD is my first priority). JUST KIDDING I DELETED IT. BWHAHAHA. Simplicity is but a Word: My first response to this story was, "Oh, my God! People actually like it!?" I was so baffled to get a plethora of reviews; I didn't think it would be such a hit with some readers. It made me feel all fuzzy inside! It's just a cute story between Rikku and Auron (one of my favourite parings) and about how contrastive their personalities are, and how they work together when in an awkward and uncomfortable situation (i.e. falling off a cliff). I'm so close to updating this story! It's at the tip of my tongue, so to speak. (This is my second priority). The rest are either one-shots or lost causes. I can't express to you how apologetic I am for not being able to update them; yet, the ingenuity to do so vanished from both sight and mind. I swear as a southerner to thee: they will all be finished and rewritten before I encounter my demise! Now, until that day comes, I shall work on the two mentioned stories above. I do pray to some higher power that I'll get it all finished. I like to have a wide range of genres for my writing, and I try to release the Final Fantasy infatuation/fetish that I carry with me. I have many good ideas for the coming future, but I know I can't put them down on paper (or a computer screen) until I finish my others. [AGRAH! -- *beats self with a stick]... I, more often than not, write for FFX [albeit I do other FF titles, and if my frame of mind decides to help me in the endeavour, I might put up a Metal Gear story. Ooh, suspense. Advertisement Time: My best buddy/writer in da' entire ff-dot-net universe would be none other than Starry34. I strongly encourage you to read her stories. They truly are out-of-this-world awesomeness, as is she. You could travel amongst the stories I have favoured in the past, but I suggest you don't. I, myself, don't even want to return to those thrilling days of yesteryear [SARCASM]... I had no knowledge, understanding, or ability to identity a good story even if it smacked me in the face. I was just so young! Bah. I really like God's Forsaken Land by Freyjadour. (I'm an enthusiast for long chapters, and this story had some loooooong chapters. It is an AU Final Fantasy 8 story that really captured my attention from the get-go. The dialogue is on par to that of a big-budget movie). One of the stories that got me into writing was Severed Reality, a very, very riveting twist on the whole sucked-into-game theme written by Hypaalicious for FF8. It's one of my all-time favourites, and the sequel, Cacophonia, is just as good, if not, better. An amazing comedy would definitely be Tactical Idiocy Action: Metal Gear Solid created by DarkGidora. This is, by far, the funniest story in existence. I can't tell you the number of times I laughed aloud (and I hate laughing). If you want Aurikku action, Gining is the go-to person for FFX stories (thank you for recommending it to me, Liz!) Moreover, Gabi-Hime's The Shape of His Heart is sheer perfection in many ways. To end all this awesome promotion on stories I love, a superb Vincent/Yuffie tale would be Sunshine in Winter by Guardian1. Two words to describe it? Mind. Blowing. Other random stuff to fill up space: My name is Caitlin. As you can see [or maybe not, Kyasarin means Caitlin in Japanese. I'm a fun-loving girl who loves writing and gets weird looks from people on the street everyday. Tennessee Williams is considered my incentive and guiding light, and I pretty much have read all of his plays: The Glass Menagerie, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and my personal favourite, A Streetcar Named Desire. I could add a lot more to this list, but then you'd be reading all day long and I'm sure you have a life to get to. If I were ever deprived of my writing skills or my novels, my life would be meaningless & inconsequential. I see the world in all different types of hues, and I think that make-believe really is a lot better than actuality. The verisimilitude in stories works just fine as a substitute for the real universe. Remember, optimism tinged with realism is never the way to go. Don't colour the world slightly; throw a shitload of paint all over it and then dirty yourself up by wallowing in it. I suppose I shall leave it at that. "Assert your right to make a few mistakes. If people can't accept your imperfections, that their fault ... " Dr. David M. Burns |
