This story is because Martin has a rubbish life and nothing good ever happens to him - cue Irene Adler. Started off as only a short drabble, ended up a longer story with some angst. Rating for sexual references and later events which I'm not revealing yet! Because the chapters are very long, updates aren't frequent - sorry!

Picking up where "Afghanistan Comes Home" leaves off, John and Sherlock go to Captain Evans funeral. Events escalate rapidly and suddenly Sherlock finds himself separated from John by thousands of kilometers, as his friend takes part in a special ops rescue mission. In Afghanistan. Sherlock knows that any violinist could sooth John back to sleep, but he still plays. But what happens when he isn't the one playing? Probably very fluffy!

In between Sherlock's death and return, John struggled. With the help of friends both old and new, John learns how to at least cope with the loss of his best friend. My attempt at writing short stories in the 221-B format 221 words, last word starting with B . I'm really enjoying writing and I think these will encourage me to to do it more often and present an interesting challenge. This story occur eight months post Reichenbach. Sherlock while recovering from injuries; is asked to assist in a high profile kidnapping. Sherlock fights against time to save the victim, while fighting against memories that threaten to destroy him.

After the Reichenbach Fall, John doesn't want to go on without his best friend. Mycroft Holmes acts on his promise to keep John safe. Rated T for attempted suicide and depression.

What if John hadn't seen the hound when Sherlock trapped him in the lab? What if instead, his very real nightmares of the war had materialized all around him? Trapped and drugged, John can't tell what's real and what's not. How will Sherlock react?
