I’m from the forests and the mountains

with rumbling rivers and breathtaking views.

I am of many bloods

and many cultures

which open doors of unknown possibilities.

I’m from the books

where animals hide in every nook.

From lost boys fighting captain Hook

To a kid who found his dreams come true.

I’m of the Cousteau kids

swimming with the fishes

so swift and so small

like the birds I have.

Out of the water

I am badminton and frisbee,

soccer and tennis and bicycling too.

I’m Christmas fun and New Year’s eve,

with chocolate and candy treasures

hiding, stowed away in the refrigerator.

I’m son and grandson,

brother and nephew,

I am family.
