![]() Author has written 2 stories for Code Geass, and Total Drama series. Hey everybody! Welcome to my profile page. Thanks for coming by to check out my stuff. Update November 3, 2014: Wow. My time on this site has been very sporadic. I joined back in 2010 after finishing Code Geass with a fic idea in mind. I wrote two chapters, suffered writer's block, and didn't log back in for almost two years. Then I had an idea for a my own Total Drama spinoff, and logged back in with the intention of writing it, but it kind of fell through, and I left again. Now I'm back again after finishing the Hataraku Maō-Sama! anime, and hopefully I'll be here to stay this time! For now, I'm mostly reading, both for inspiration and fun. I haven't written a fan fiction in a while, and I still don't know how active I'll be in writing at this point, but fan fiction is an easy way to let my creative tendencies loose, so I hope to start writing again soon. I like to think I've become a much better writer in the two years since the last time I logged in, so I hope to be able to showcase my new improved talents soon! In the meantime, I'll be plunging headfirst into the fictions. Now that that's out of the way, a little about me! When it comes to fan fiction... A) The closer to canon, the better. I always love it when a writer can create works of fiction that feel like they could actually be part of the show/movie/book/whatever, but do so completely in their own voice. It shows tremendous respect to the source material if you stay true to the original character interactions, rules of the canon, and so on. Of course, this is fan fiction, so we have to take liberties sometimes! B) I'm a sucker for fluff. I wish to whatever god exists I could figure out why. I like realism, and I've long believed it's the best way to go, but I can never resist some good fluff! C) I prefer to give and receive totally honest reviews. That means that if I see something in your story that I think is off, I will call it like I see it, and I hope you will do the same for me. That's the only way I can become a better writer. D) I have mixed feelings about OCs. Sometimes they can add a lot to the writer's story, but I feel like more often than not they make the fic more about the writer than the source material. And in my opinion, if you have an original character you like a lot, give them their own story! E) This one is very important. As most of the fics I read are anime/manga fics, I see a lot of fics that insert Japanese words and phrases even though they are not written in Japanese. This drives me insane. Unless a Japanese word is a name, a place or concept specific to Japan, or something direct from the source material, it should not be used in a non-Japanese fic. I don't like seeing "baka" when people mean "stupid", or "nani?" when people mean "what?" or anything of the sort. It's a shame to say this, because I love the Japanese language, but it just simply makes no sense to include a few Japanese words in a fic written in English. And now a little more about me. My greatest creative influences: - My girlfriend. Yes she is a very creative person and keeps my creative drive going. - Louis C.K., Patton Oswalt, Bill Hicks, Mitch Hedberg, and Richard Pryor. My big five of stand-up comedy. Their hilarious insights and whimsical observations have kept my brain active for years. - Trey Parker & Matt Stone. The creators of South Park. They've been my favorite television comedy writers for a long time. - Claudio Sanchez. Frontman of Coheed & Cambria and prolific graphic novelist. It's the best of both worlds. - Pete Loeffler. Frontman of Chevelle. His music and lyrics remind me that there are endless ways to get across a single idea. - Team Four Star. Internet comedians and creators of DragonBall Z Abridged, Hellsing Ultimate Abridged, and Attack on Titan Abridged. - Goku. The anime character that started it all for me. Some of my favorite works of fiction: - South Park. The show about four bad-mouthed boys from Colorado to whom nothing is sacred. - DragonBall Z. The first anime I ever watched. - Fight Club. David Fincher's gritty, enthralling indie film of the 90s, based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk. - Spongebob Squarepants. The show about the sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea. No matter how old I get, I'll never stop loving it. - Death Note. The show that marked my entrance into the deeper and darker side of anime. - The Devil is a Part-Timer! The show that won my heart in only thirteen episodes. And, as a hopeless romantic and a sucker for fluff, here's a list of my favorite ships. If you have fics of these ships, chances are I will read them. - The Devil is a Part-Timer!: Maou x Emi - Code Geass: Lelouch x C.C. - Gurren Lagann: Simon x Nia - Avatar the Last Airbender: Zuko x Katara (I know it didn't pay off, but I shipped it). - Durarara!!!: Shinra x Celty - Teen Titans: Robin x Starfire If you want to talk about shows, ships, movies, music, books, philosophy, recommendations, or anything else, feel free to PM me.
