![]() Author has written 2 stories for Twilight, and Inuyasha. I am a animal-lover, and am currently attending ACC in Austin, but I will be transferring to A&M University in order to finish my degree in Animal Sciences, after which I shall be getting into Vet School. I have always wanted to be a veterinarian; as a child growing up, I've always had in incorrigible love for animals no matter their shape, size, or species. As a six year old, I was picking up all kinds of creepy-crawlies, and centipedes were among them, letting them crawl over my arms, and body with no feeling of terror, or strangeness and never once was I bitten or stung by one, though my other siblings have been bitten and stung by them... I was always very calm around animals, and usually never lost my temper out of excitement, or nervousness, or anger. The same now holds true for younger children, too! Also by the time I was six, I was riding my mother's thoroughbred mare alone, and unsupervised. I remember being able to trot, and lope with out any repercussions, or loss of balance. I lived out in the country then, mind you, my siblings and I were lucky kids; growing up on 192 acres of land; mostly wide meadow-like pastures surrounded by great tracts of forestry like pines and oaks, and different variations of those species. In that wonderful place, many wild animals lived, and I was privy to it all! Mountain lions, javalinas, coyotes, and wolves roamed nightly, (mountain lions roamed during the day too). It was a rare and wonderful place for me; at night you could see the whole spread of the milky way in all its lovely glory above you, and you could watch it through your window. I miss it, I now live closer to the city, and I can no longer see the milky way spread out above me at night. But that's alright, I still see more stars than any of my friends who live in the city! Muahahaha! Hello! I am, for all intents and purposes, Selenay. I chose Antioch because it has always been a very interesting place to me, I read about it, and I greatly admire the artists who came from that region, and I was in a bind when I realized someone had the name I wanted, "Lover of Literature." So I jumped to my old pen-name, Selenay, but alas! That was taken as well, then I just added on to that, springing up the one place I know many wouldn't really bother in my particular combination, and voila! Here is my name. Selenay of Antioch That is my name, which is actually a close derivative of my true name, and it is the name many of you will learn to know me as. Before I became a registered writer on this community, I was known to a few as this reviewer, Lover of Literature, an Anonymous reviewer with words to say to their works in progress. Usually, I almost always had good things to say, and I always meant well. I am an aspiring young writer, with big ideas, and I hope to share them all with this community of aspiring writers, like myself. I seek not only to improve my own writing here, but also to help others improve their own writing. I want to share the great wealth and beauty of literature, as we practice writing about all of our favorite people in various books, animes, and so on and so forth. My main hope is that people who come to read my stories will do so with an open mind, and with patience, as I am a new and young writer, and I'm still learning the ropes. If you were to squash my flame down so completely, my fires for writing would be seriously diminished! And that is a harsh thing, I don't think people should be so incredibly critical of anther person's writing, that person is trying, and is working to do better. Give them tips and hints to improve their writing, and if they want to learn, they will change, and adjust themselves and styles in order to become a better writer. Meanwhile, I'll be working my very best to keep spell check active, and to watch my grammar as I write. Working to keep my writing as clear and concise as possible, and easy to understand for all who read it. I plan to write my first story soon, I've got my juices running, and I'm itching to get them all down in documents to be posted. I wonder what I shall post them under, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Inuyasha, or Twilight? Mainly, I'm gonna write something because no one else has, at least not quite what I'm looking for. I looking for more stories of dragons, not Eragon-- mind you, but something to do with dragons in the three categories I mentioned above. So I'll start with something there. It is with great sadness that I realize now why I have not seen any entries of the worlds created by Terry Goodkind, and Robin McKinley, they were such a great inspiration to me as a child to become a writer, but at the same time, I feel a well of relief inside of me. At least now I know that no one could possibly tarnish the worlds they so perfectly wrought in their minds. Their stories lie complete, and whole, there really is no further need to explore their worlds. I will leave it at that. This irks me to no end! I have to wait two whole days before I can publish my first story! I have named it, Dawn of a New Era. Correction! Those of you looking for Dawn of a New Era will find nothing! I have renamed it Clash of the Elements: Ice and Fire. So look for that when you seek out my story. Summary: The world is stirring, and Alice’s visions grow dim with the encroaching approach of ancient immortals that all Vampire kind had thought to be killed off by the Volturi’s ambitious bid for dominance of this world. It only began with Bella’s return to Forks from the disastrous encounter with James back in Phoenix, Arizona… Hey! I've been updating my chapters, and editing them! I encourage you to reread the whole thing, and see how it turned out. There were things I had to change about the story to follow what happened, and the plots needed thickening, too. Like, the final battle, I don't know how many of you have reach that part, but I feel that I needed to change more of that, and I'm still working on it. I've published it! Please read, I think it looks good! School has started for me, and my job has claimed me every moment I'm not at school. So time to write to my hearts content has dropped down to nil. I know it's a cruel thing to do, leaving my readers hanging like this, and I apologize. But some things can't be helped. I need money to pay my bills, and I need an education to do what I love. I did a crazy thing today, I decided to donate blood when I was at school today, and I worked up the nerve to do so. Just so ya'll know, I'm a hemophobic, and I'm also hypoglycemic. So when they finished harvesting me, I was so exhausted, I could barely focus in the rest of my classes. The cool, northern wind carried on its back that sweet smell of the winter snow, the air was chilling to the bone but it didn’t affect the great Wind-Wolves. Azoth breathed deeply, his large, dark, purple eyes turned back to the south, from where he again felt that gentle pull, drawing him towards it. It seemed that every time he took a step towards the Calling, for that was the only name that described it, he felt a rush of true happiness, a giddy feeling, and every time he took a step away from the Calling, he would feel depression, and anguish. And he didn’t like that one bit. Next to him, Vandia, his sister slept torpidly. She had taken an all-night watch, he hadn’t told her to do so; she had just simply didn’t wake him. He was thankful to her, though, the rest was well sought after, and he hadn’t been sleeping well. They had been tracked by a band of orcs for days, and only managed to give them the slip by sheer luck; not even they had counted on finding one of the most fabled places in this cold and bitter land. They had stumbled upon a great valley in the earth, closed in on all sides by sheer walls of stone, the only path down was one not meant for the thick and tainted, iron-shod feet of orcs, the siblings however were quick to pass the veil of obscure mist unharmed, and dashed down the cliff-side path post-haste. They were less afraid of the foot-wide, crumbling path and more afraid of the bull-like fiends hot on their heels. But their fears were laid to rest when they were halfway down the treacherous path; they heard the bellowing shrieks of the orcs as they were grasped by the mist, and thrown into the air to cruelly face their fate at the bottom of the cliffs. Azoth shuddered at the memory, and tried not to think of it any longer. The only thing that mattered was that they were safe, the wizard in this valley being a strange and welcoming host to the rare beasts to grace his doorstep. Knowing them to not be tame creatures, he gave them permission to roam his valley, and feed on the beasts, and leave when it pleased them. Azoth could plainly remember the wispy old man, his hair almost nonexistent, and a relic from bygone days when the Gryndons reigned over this land. The old man had been so awed to see them, and they were pleased to be remembered by the people who were once their hosts. The great sun, Faith, broke free from the horizon. Casting her far-reaching tendrils across the sky, he breathed a sigh of relief and lowered his great head to the ground to doze in the morning sun. His thoughts doused once again by the serene beauty of this land. He woke up a couple hours later to find his sister had vanished, her trail leading him to the river. He saw her wading in the icy river, and off to the side, a few trout were lying on the riverbank. Out of the blue, she made a momentary pause to plunge her head into the icy water and came up with another trout in her mouth. At the sight of him, she grinned wolfishly and flung the trout onto the shore and waded back out of the river, she shook herself-spraying water everywhere-and came up to lick his muzzle in good morning. As surviving Wind-Wolves from the annihilation of Aten’haket, the wondrous city of legends, they had to stick together. Lately, he and Vandia had started feeling the Call, but it was strange, they both thought that all of the Gryndons had been wiped out. Could it be that there are some surviving Royal Gryndons lying about? Just waiting for us, as we have been them? Azoth shook his head to clear his thoughts, Vandia had already turned and started eating her catch; if he wanted any of it then he would have to grab something to feed his large frame. He lunged forward and grabbed three of the trout into his mouth and swallowed them whole, narrowly avoiding his sister’s snapping jaws for intruding on her meal. :Too slow, little sister, I won them fair and square.: He taunted good naturedly as he galloped silently on to the meadow to hunt, :That wasn’t fair, just you wait, I‘ll get you.: Nearing the edge of the forest a few minutes later, he slowed and crouched down to craw on his belly and by the time he reached the meadow, he was invisible against the surrounding foliage. Maybe fifteen feet away from the gigantic wolf, a large elk grazed unaware of how close he was to death. In the blink of an eye Azoth sprang up and grounded the elk with his bulk, and then his jaws came around and ended the elk’s life with a crunch. Within minutes, the great wolf was contently full from ripping and gorging himself on the elk, he saw out of the corner of his eye, Vandia, her dark coat was unmistakable, walking towards his kill, but he didn’t mind, he was now too full at the moment to finish the elk, so he sighed contentedly and sat back to digest his meal a little more. She noticed his acceptance of her presence so near to his kill and went at the body with a will. Azoth stood up and went to the nearby river to wash clean of the blood staining his beautiful grey-blue coat. Later that day, Vandia pressed the question they both had been wondering silently, :Should we answer the Calling, Azoth?: He looked at her and nodded in agreement, :Yes Vandi. I, too, feel that we should go. With every passing day, the Calling becomes harder to resist. Let’s leave now, right this instant: He barked and wagged his tail, :I am anxious to leave this place, we shall probably visit this haven again sometime.: And with that they stood up and galloped on to the south, their hearts becoming lighter, and more joyous the faster, and farther, they went. They were going to find their soul mates, the ones they had been waiting for. |
