I live in Hollywood, CA and am a Biz Dev Director in the entertainment industry. I have hung out on the periphery of FF for many years - occasionally finding an author here that really struck a chord with their writing and becoming pen pals with them. I was a pretty solid reviewer for a couple of years but I sadly fail now on the rare occasion that I am able to read FF. There are a couple of amazing authors writing now that compel me to come back every couple of months. So many of the old writers are gone - but there is always new talent shining in this fandom!

I get a little giggle that I totally called it with regard to some fics being perfect to convert to scripts and actually told a couple that they should back in 2009! Not the now notorious one...but I have worked around the film industry for years (but in the world of internet no one really knows that someone is who they say they are and I am pretty sure those writers just blew me off as just an enthusiastic fan). I knew the quality of story line was frequently better than so-called hot scripts that were being shopped around the larger studio I was with before I went Indie in 2011.

I am pretty proud of the gals here - I think this is particularly an amazing outlet for women to become skilled writers. The site has given many natural talents the support and validation that they really needed to push them to pursue their professional dreams. Very empowering for women for sure!

I rarely have time to read like I did in 2009 and my favorites tab is not being utilized properly. For the most part, I use it for a placeholder of fics I have either read about or have had recommended to me. This means most of them I have not read. This site needs a bookmark tab!

I want to say, "THANK YOU!" to the authors for sharing their blood, sweat and tears. It takes such tremendous courage to put something so intimate out there for strangers to appraise.
