![]() Author has written 10 stories for Legend of Zelda, Lord of the Rings, Fire Emblem, Pokémon, and Sword Art Online/ソードアート・オンライン. *IMPORTANT UPDATE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE* Hello. You are on the main page of LocalTalent53, a haven for those with time to spare and the tolerance to read my stories. This page is currently being remodeled, so please read the latest update near the bottom of the page. About me: Just your average writer averagely writing average fics. Been wasting away 5 years of my life on The Legend of Zelda: The Pendant of Peril; it will see completion someday. Once I get that out of the way I'll be able to swarm the place with some of my other writings, which are currently not far enough through for me to post (shouldn't have made that mistake with Pendant). Everything before 2009 is considered old and generally not worth viewing without an understanding of the silly mindset I had back then. Works after that (sans the original Pendant of Peril) are more reflective of my current writings. My DreamWidth, where I ramble about useless things and fic info: Fan fictions: Pendant of Peril Trilogy Book 1: The Legend of Zelda: The Pendant of Peril The Legend of Zelda - Rated T - Adventure Fifteen years after Ocarina of Time, a young man named Link is married to the girl of his dreams and given a mysterious pendant to symbolize his marriage. However, not long after he comes upon a tragedy that forces him out of his home and into the rest of the grand world of Hyrule. After a few rough instances and a bit of training, he soon discovers his role in the world and must destroy the very symbol that remains around his neck. Follows the struggles and mysteries of Link and the hardships of defeating darkness as he learns the meaning of both the frailty and power of love. Progress in Chapters: 2/47? (Revamped and edited version) Under the Warm Sky Sword Art Online - Rated T - General Underneath a warm sky, two players have a discussion of Sword Art Online and how it has shaped their realities. Perhaps the conversation is not as simple as it is taken at face value. An experiment written both as a tribute to Sword Art Online as well as to trounce the ever returning Writer's Block. Special Zelda - Rated T - Tragedy On the first day she heard the name Ganon for the first time in a serious context. On the first day she scoffed at the idea of her world being destroyed by such a fairy tale. The following days she was proven wrong. A look into the mind of Princess Zelda as Ganon slowly threatens to destroy her world. Retelling of the flood before Wind Waker. Behind the Door Fire Emblem - Rated T - Horror Eliwood stands before a door. Ninian is on the other side. He wants to knock, but that would be rude. She'll come out of her own accord, he reasons. But what if she isn't behind the door? ...But he knew Ninian was there. A surreal experimental oneshot. Righteous Fire Emblem - Rated T - Angst Driven to extremes following the discovery of the blood pact plaguing Daein, Micaiah must do anything she can to stall the Apostle's army from reaching Begnion. To save those dearest to her she chooses to pay the sickest price she can imagine in the futile hope to draw the battle out. To save Sothe, and to an extent Daein, she will watch the world burn... Takes place during the cliff side battle in Part 3, Chapter 12. To Be a Master Pokemon - Rated T - Drama/Friendship Atop a mountain of ice, the man who was Champion stands aloof and alone, unchallenged by all. A man he once knew climbs up the rigorous peak with nothing but the intention of bringing his friend back down. An experimental oneshot written as an attempt to trounce Writer's Block. Musings of Altea Fire Emblem - Rated T - Humor After the defeat of Medeus and the downfall of Dolhr, Marth sits atop his throne, befuddled and bored beyond belief. What simple form of entertainment shall he ponder today? A series of tales in between Shadow Dragon and Mystery of the Emblem. Continuity not guaranteed. Progress in Chapters: 1/3? Updates and Announcements: 6/27/14 I promise I'm not dead! Merely incapacitated due to various life-related circumstances. Irregardless, I am still writing, though currently taking a break from Pendant of Peril. I've worked on it for so long that I need to step away from it for a little while, especially as some large non-fanfic related projects have come up that I need to attend to. On the plus side, I am currently working on some material that Fire Emblem fans may get a kick out of. Some Zelda-related material is also going through the beta-reading process thanks to the lovely LEva114, who is kind to put up with my sporadic and somewhat nightmarish update schedules. At the very least, some sort of update or two will likely go up this summer. Once again, thank you all for taking the time to read my works. It touches me from the bottom of my heart. 7/24/13- Important announcement for all Pendant of Peril readers! From today onward, The Legend of Zelda: The Pendant of Peril, will be re-uploaded as simply The Pendant of Peril due to serious need for plot inconsistencies to be weeded out. Certain facts need to be changed, character dialogue and some (all of Arc 1) chapters need rewritten, and generally trying to keep up with all of that while trying to read the old uploaded chapters is ultimately going to give everyone a headache. Fixing all of this up will be better for everyone involved, especially me for clearing up upcoming plot inconsistencies around chapter 41 or so. Here's what to expect for the revamped version: Arc 1 and Arc 2 will have some serious revision, and some plot details will be edited so readers aren't scratching their heads later. Arc 3 will undergo heavy revision in dialogue and flow, but the progression of the plot will remain fairly similar to what you have already read. Arc 4 will undergo lighter revision, and Arc 5 will remain mostly the same save for minor edits. All of this will heavily improve the reading experience (particularly for the end of Arc 5, which would otherwise have some MAJOR plot holes) and set the stage for a proper Arc 6. Once this is taken care of, I can finally put the first book to a close and move on to Book 2 of the trilogy. I'm sorry for the insane amount of inconvenience this may cause, especially for those still sticking around from five years ago. It sucks to have to reread 150,000 words all over again. But I hope the edited version can provide a higher quality of writing as well as entertain you with some new information and better characterization/dialogue flow. Expect to see some updates soon, and enjoy the rewrite if you can! -LocalTalent53 Next Chapter in The Pendant of Peril: Chapter 3: A Transition | |||||||
