There is a rift between Athos and Aramis because of the truth that they share and the lies they use to cover it. There is a mistake and a mission and things come to light, some of them that Athos wished had remained in the dark.

For one, blessedly naïve moment, Athos thinks that he might actually make it, because it's Aramis, and he can swear to it that he's never met anyone with such devilish luck in his entire life... But Mother Fortuna isn't smiling today. - That random Skiing AU you never knew you wanted.

So I thought of a way to make him see his errors. Unfortunately, d'Artagnan has to pay the price for it. This is what my muse came up with. Featuring all main characters.

I decided to explore their bond, their lives, their souls, through a collection of short stories, one for every chapter, focusing each on a single emotion. I also will follow the alphabetical order. After the escape of Minister Colbert, the Musketeers are tasked with following up a lead concerning Louis' former Finance Minister, who has successfully absconded with the King's gold. Aramis and Porthos are drawn into a deadly game with connections to Athos' past. Sequel to my story "What Remains to Be Seen" but it is not necessary to read that one in order to follow.

Five times Aramis needed a hug and one time someone just really needed to hold him.

The Inseparables ride to retrieve Aramis from the abbey, only to find he is not there. Obviously, Aramis never reached Douai at all. Despite knowing there's something amiss, they have to return to Paris without their fourth. Do they have to go to war without their brother or will they be able to search and find him in time? Meanwhile, Aramis is on the verge of losing his life...

"Everything descended into Hell almost instantly." The Prime Minister is dead, Unit 2 are facing their toughest assignment yet and all Athos wants to do is make sure everyone comes out alive. Apparently that's too much to ask. Part 5 of Blood Ties.

During a royal hunt, Aramis nearly drowns when someone pushes him into a raging river. Who tried to kill him, and why?

Aramis went to the monastery to find peace in the choices he made in his past. But when circumstances bring our Inseparables back together 4 years later, will his fear of the future keep him from making peace with his past?

To grieve for the dead is a comfort that brings peace to a troubled soul. One can only imagine what a soul goes through when it is forced to grieve for the living. Set right after the episode 'Through a glass darkly'.

When a seemingly random attack almost claims the life of one of their own, it is soon discovered that a ruthless scheme for revenge is in motion. As a painful memory of his past is exposed in the process, Aramis struggles with the ramifications. Friendship, Brotherhood and H/C.

They were fragmented. Athos could see that. It didn't look as if d'Artagnan and Aramis would ever be friends again. Part four of the "Blood Ties" series

The journey from Paris to the border takes at least two days. Athos, D'Artagnan and Constance leave the capital on the day after Aramis is taken prisoner. That leaves five days of Aramis' plight in that prison cell unaccounted for. This is what happened in that time.

Everyone has a take on how the Inseparables met and grew to become the notorious force of nature they were known to be. This is mine. Set a few months after Savoy, pre-season 1.

Complete. One shot. Mildly angsty. Edited for a few typos/spelling (thanks Deana). The moments after an ambush... 'Burdened by both exhaustion and a heavy conscience, Aramis braced his hands on the ground on either side of him and pushed himself up, swaying slightly before reaching full height.'

"Do you know the paitent's name? Are you his next of kin?" "d'Artagnan de Lupiac, but no, no I'm not," Athos' voice felt rough in his throat. It felt like, if it were to crack, it would take the last of his resolve with it, "We're friends, colleagues." When Athos wakes up, complete with a screaming hangover and tied to a chair, he can't help but hope it's some elaborate joke courtesy of the madmen he calls friends. But as events unfold and take a darker turn Athos realises his kidnapping was no random act of criminality. Someone planned his abduction, is out for revenge and will stop at nothing until he gets it. Modern AU

During one of the most vivid heat waves in memory, one of the boys finds himself losing hope trapped in a cell that resembles an oven.

Missing scene from 1x03 Commodities. In which Aramis doesn't escape quite as unscathed as he seemed to on the show.

It's early winter in the south of France. Athos and Porthos find themselves stuck in a swamp while trying to rescue their horses from bandits who may or may not be simple horse thieves. Aramis and d'Artagnan stand a valiant defense of their mired friends and all of them pay with various levels of injury and regret. -Complete.

d'Artagnan, completely on his own for the first time in his life, finds fate has tossed him an opportunity he's been longing for, though as is often the case, the price of the newly opened door is costly - his father's life. What further payment will capricious fate require if he finds the courage to follow his dream?

Set S1, directly after Episode 8, The Challenge. Each man has his demons. Facing them separates the brotherhood; overcoming them takes a united front.

Just a simple mission...gone very awry. When their field medic is put out of commission, who will pick up the needle and wield it in his stead? Plenty of brotherly banter and more than a little hurt/comfort.

Set S1, between episodes 3, Commodities, and 4, Good Soldier. A voluntary mission turns d'Artagnan from a wayward recruit into a Musketeer in all but name. However, first things go very, very wrong. As they do. And the men are pushed to their limits to keep their brotherhood intact.
