Author has written 1 story for Samurai Jack, and My Life as a Teenage Robot. I joined FanFiction.net because I hoped to revisit my childhood and play around with ideas that come into my head -- even possibly giving them a more mature spin. Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon were a large part of my childhood, which is why the first fan fiction I ever decided to post here was "Jack and the Robot Girl," a crossover between Genndy Tartakovsky's brilliant "Samurai Jack" and Rob Renzetti's "My Life as a Teenage Robot." Go have a read, if you're interested. I consider writing fan fiction good practice for writing original fiction. Writing fan fiction forces you to understand character development, plot mapping, setting accuracy, and narrative credibility. When writing rough drafts of stories, one can be very forgiving of typos and details left out. But on this site, where everything is uploaded chapter by chapter like volumes in a comic book, you need to have a story planned out or you have to be very, very detailed from the get-go and stick with your story till the very end. You're forced to take every word you write seriously. My ultimate vocational goal is to become a full-time writer and published author. Writing fanfiction, unfortunately, doesn't pay the bills (unless you have a creator's written permission to profit from it, but that's very rare), but I do enjoy writing it when I have the time. I don't frequent here much anymore now that I'm focused on my original stuff, but if you're still interested, please consider following my blog where I post monthly updates. You can also find me on Goodreads, Twitter, and SoundCloud. Happy writing, and happy reading! |
