I'm a huge horror fan. Everything from novels to movies. I also love to write. I've had a passion for Silent Hill for a long, long time. I look at writing Silent Hill fiction different from some others. Many, many SH fanfics revolve around the official storylines, retelling them or altering them in some way. Many others utilize all of the locations and characters we've come to know and love. In my opinion, those characters and locations should be used sparringly, or not at all. Why mess with a good thing? In my writing, I will never use official characters from the games. They have already served their purpose, and I think reusing them waters down what made them special. I also try to explore new areas of SH that have not been included in official releases. Maybe it's just me, but I think that makes a much more interesting story. New characters and new locations, nothing recycled.
