![]() Author has written 4 stories for Naruto. The Situation in Hell The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well. Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different Religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities: 1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose. 2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "it will be a cold day in Hell before I go out with you", and take into account the fact that I went out with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct . . . leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being." THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A." If you actually wouldn't mind school if it was Naruto-related, copy and paste this to your profile and add your name here: Moonlight Music Mistress, Xanie,NejiTenfanforever, Death Note Lover, NarutoLuver35, FDS-Sasuke-fangirl, SilentSinger948,NaruHinaxNejiten, Shinku Ryuuga, ShadowFireZelda, Izanagi.iX My Favorite: Anime: Fairy Tail, Naruto, Soul Eater, Sword Art Online, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Code Geass, The K Project, and Magi Games: Skyrim, and my number one game is, and forever will be, Kingdom Hearts Parings: Natsu x Levy, Erza, Mira, Ultear, Ur, or any other girl but Lucy and Lisanna. The reason I don't like these parings is because they're overrated, there's so many and they are poorly written, and they don't present a challenge to anybody, however if you take someone like, Levy for example, it's a bit more challenging to write about as they are a unlikely pair. Naruto x any girl but Hinata for the same reason, but I will read it if it's written very well. This goes for any overrated paring or canon paring that I don't like Soul x Maka - they just fit so well, being almost exact opposites it's just hard for me not to like them Kirito x Asuna - it's just a good paring and in my opinion it's told better than Natsu x Lucy Ed x Winry - I waited for this paring to happen and in the last episode (which almost made me cry, almost) I was ecstatic. Lelouch x Kallen - I haven't even finished Code Geass but this one stood out to me. I don't really have a paring for The K Project because it was so short and the ending was abrupt, regardless the 13 episodes were really well done Alibaba x Morgiana - I honestly don't even remember if there is a paring in the anime but this would be the one I want Female Dragonborn x Alea - I really like Alea as a character and I would it rather be a female so there is more affection, you can call me sexist but in a time of constant battles and an impending war, girls would probably be more caring then the guys when it comes to relationships I haven't read Fanfiction for Kingdom Hearts I have made two OCs, Izanagi is the guy that is going to be OP when I finally get around to writing a fan fic, Karin is going to be his girlfriend in most fics I may get around to writing unless people want other girls paired with him then I will hold a poll. |
