I'm MDGeistMD02.

I started writing fanfiction back in January of 2012 after being encouraged by my friends and am currently focused on Dishonored and Saints Row (two of the best gaming worlds out there in my opinion).

My Style

I always appreciate anyone taking the time to peruse my stories. However, I would be remiss if I didn't clarify a few things.

I tend to take a different approach to storytelling, as I almost exclusively focus on OCs or minor side characters. While most fanfiction stories revolve around the primary characters of the game/comic/cartoon/etc albeit from the author's perspective, I prefer to deal with the secondary or even tertiary characters often ignored and try to tell their stories. (Please understand that I have no problem with other people's versions of these main canon characters - if I did, I wouldn't be here.)

However, you'll rarely find appearances by Corvo Attano or Emily from Dishonored, or Johnny Gat and Julius from Saints Row save maybe as a cameo or something of that nature. I do study the lore extensively and try not to deviate from canon very much. I also enjoy hiding little obscure bits here and there for fans, but mostly, the characters (or at least the story) will be my own with the plot from the games usually going on 'in the background'.

It's all in the details

I go in-depth with some of my backgrounds for characters. Sometimes this causes a story to stall or slow down and for this I apologize. I usually have a lot to say about the characters and try to work it in without bogging down the story, but it does happen - I'm trying to improve this, however.

Another thing I enjoy writing is dialogue. I try to make mine sound like actual people talking and I think I do an okay job at it. I don't like a lot of fanfictions wherein the characters don't communicate well - usually its hard to follow what's being said and by whom. That being said, my characters' conversations tend to take up a good portion of the length of my chapters.

UPDATE in PROGRESS (December, 2018):

I am going through and updating the posted chaps of my fics. Some of my older ones kinda sucked, let's be honest. I've learned a bit since the good ol' days, and I wish to apply this new knowledge to some of my fics, starting with the Dishonored ones. I will try and keep a progress report going to show where I am at with each of these. Hopefully once that's all done, I can start posting new chaps and/or fics. We'll see how that goes.
