![]() Author has written 1 story for Dragon Ball Z. I'm a little new to this whole fan-fiction idea, so I apologize in advance if my writing skills aren't up to par. Stories. That's roughly what goes on here. If you have time, pull up a chair and sit on it, and have a relaxing read. My good friend/Editor Majin Alucard helps edit some of the content I write. Without him you'd probably be reading the ramblings of a madman. If you get the chance, be sure to check him out. He just started writing his own story, but it's pretty good stuff. You won't be disappointed! :) Here at my Stories, we update about as frequently as Yugi-Oh Abridged! But hey...At least it's not as frequent as Ninjabridge, right guys? Q&A 1) Questions regarding DBL(Dragon Ball Legacy). -I didn't really know what to call my series at first. I thought of DBNG(Dragon Ball New Generation) but that sounded too long-winded. I thought about DBJ(Dragon Ball Journey) but I felt the title wasn't very "fitting" and didn't really portray the concept of my story well. I even thought of DBX(yeah sounds generic, I know). I eventually settled on Legacy, as it's nice and simple. -This story is a modified DBGT(Dragon Ball GT) following on from the events of Battle Of Gods, and the end of Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball super isn't canon in this universe, due to me starting the fic after Super was announced. -I chose this because i'm a massive Dragon Ball fan, and was disappointed with the events of GT. So in short, I decided to tell my own version of the story, while adding the new movie into the continuity. In this retelling, it's pretty much the story line with GT, but with heavy modifications to certain characters and settings. -The release time of chapters is fickle at best. I'm not exactly the most motivated individual. plus I have to balance College life as well. I know this doesn't sound that appealing, but chapters will probably take some time to be published, as this really is only a activity I do in my spare time. 2) The continuity of DBL. What is canon and isn't. -To answer this question, we first have to establish canon. I define canon as anything that happened in the original manga. Filler scenes or "arcs" aren't considered canon. For example, the fight between Goku and Frieza is canon. The world tournament in the otherworld isn't canon. However, certain filler elements and movies have been made into canon for THIS STORY. I acknowledge that the movies/filler aren't part of Akria Toriyama's manga, and accept that. I included these segments because I enjoyed them, or found them interesting. However, I do try to stay close to the manga as possible, so I try only to use non-canon characters that make sense(story placement etc) in the DBZ story. This include. -Bojack. I find this character generic and boring, but he does fit nicely into the timeline, and gives Gohan some good character development. The film happened after the Cell Games, and before the 7 years of peace. -Wrath Of The Dragon. Hirudegarn can easily be placed within the time line(after Buu Saga) and I thought the Dragon Fist was a pretty cool attack. -Tarble OVA AKA yo son goku and his friends return. This is the easiest one to place within canon, as it's set after the Buu saga. Tarble is also mentioned in Battle Of Gods(the latest Dragon Ball movie, which is actually canon) so therefore he is canon in this universe. -The TV Specials, Bardock: Father Of Goku, and History Of Trunks are both considered canon, and they are in my story. -Any other Dragon Ball Movie(Garlic Jr, Turles, Lord Slug, Super 13, etc) are NOT considered canon to my story. -Revival Of F(the new DBZ Movie which is also canon) was made after I already started working on my story, so it isn't canon to this story. Elements and characters from the Revival of F story line will be Incorporated into the story but not the film itself, it that make's sense. 3) About me and future plans -I am currently still in extended education,so my time-plans can be very fickle, and i'm already not a very enthusiastic individual. This story is more of a pastime, which I update or add to when I have some free-time. I apologize if you're expecting frequent updates. -I don't really have plans for future stories, but I have some...Decent ideas I guess? We'll have to see if I ever finish my current one. |
