![]() Author has written 13 stories for Transformers/Beast Wars. Hey there, Transformer fans. I'm Carrion-Eater, also known as IHaveArtOrSomething (Tumblr handle) or SenkoWakimarin (DeviantArt handle). I'm here to ruin everything with stories about my Transformers fancharacter Carrion. Eventually, I will post his stats here, probably, but for now all you need to know is that he's a young seeker who is irresponsibly in love with Starscream, and has a very big mouth that gets him in worlds of trouble. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW Like I said, this account has been created with the sole purpose of giving me a place to post stories about my Transformers OC, Carrion. I will not be deviating from that fandom, nor will I be writing stuff not concerned with the OC. No, I will not write about other people’s OCs, because I don’t want to fuck them up. If you want to bitch about how awful my OC is, or about how terribly my characterizations of cannon characters are, you can email me at carrioneater‘at’gmail dot com. Flames left on here will be ignored. As far as mating is concerned, I firmly hold to the ‘spark-bonding’ concept. I do not do plug-n-play, or sticky, or any of that nonsense. Just nice, clean spark-bonding. If you haven’t read ChibiJaime’s essays on sparks, spark-bonding, and other TF related things, then… go do that, because as far as relationships go, my work heavily references her concepts. Below are some points of interest to help understand Carrion a little better. ALLIANCE: Originally un-aligned, Carrion chose to side with the Decepticons, largely due to a wide-eyed hero-worship of Starscream, whose name he repeatedly heard muttered in hushed, reverent tones. Starscream being one of the most feared, brilliant, and dangerous mechs in the known universe, it’s somewhat understandable that a young flier might be attracted to him. What is less understandable is how vehemently Carrion ignored any negative comments about Starscream. BACKGROUND: Originally built as a field medic, Carrion choses to serve as a soldier under Starscream’s command. He is a laughably small Seeker, built to be able to fly onto the field, make dire repairs quickly, and fly back out before an enemy has a chance to kill him. In a physical confrontation, he’s easy to push around, if one can get one’s hands on him; he’s quick and sporadic in hand-to-hand combat, and isn’t afraid to play dirty – he’s been known to use his claws to take out an enemy’s optics just to increase his chances of getting away. After joining the Decepticons, Starscream chose to view Carrion’s blind loyalty to him as an asset, taking the young seeker under his wing and subjecting him to private training. Despite a natural inclination toward snark, they complement each other quite well, as Carrion fights just enough to be interesting, and is always there to patch Starscream up when his Commander is injured. His babble – he talks a lot – is both annoying and distracting, giving the older seeker something to focus on other than his failures and various injury. Unbeknownst to Carrion, Starscream takes it upon himself to ensure that his personal project doesn’t get scrapped early on in their relationship. He is always there to step in and distract anyone of consequence – not least of all Megatron – that Carrion’s ever-lasting mouth may have annoyed. In truth, even from the beginning, Carrion owes a lot more than just his life to the older jet. However, siding with Starscream has its downside, of course. Not long after the Air Commander decides he’s competent enough to serve on the field, Starscream convinces Carrion to assist him in a coup against Megatron. The story ‘Leave You’ goes more into detail on that, but suffice to say, it doesn’t go well. The two fight, and Carrion runs away. For a time, he realigns with the Autobots, but he definitely does not work well with them, and spends most of his time alone and unhappy. Eventually, in his own fit of treachery, Starscream also joins the Autobots (a la the old cartoons, did I mention that my shit takes place in no real set TF ‘verse? ) . After an exceptionally violent reunion and a very angry ‘we both fucked up’ make up – which, by the way, they were forced to do, after being locked together in close quarters until they either killed each other or agreed to behave like good seekers and work nicely – Starscream resolves to take Carrion back with him when he returns to the Decepticon team. Most of my work takes place after that moment in Carrion’s history, which sort of marks the height of his devotion to Starscream. When they return to the Nemesis, Starscream very obviously steps in to distract Megatron from Carrion, taking punishment instead of letting the younger ‘Con get scrapped. Having never really understood that this was happening before, and seeing it unfold, Carrion seals whatever misplaced anger he might have had left toward his Commander away, and focuses on becoming the best weapon in Starscream’s armory. It’s not until Starscream actually dies that he is willing to admit to himself that he’s actually stupid enough to have fallen in love with the older jet. PERSONALITY: Carrion is a small mech with a big mouth; he’ll always find something to say to any situation, and this has a habit of making people annoyed with him – and he knows it. This actually amuses him. He’s clever, and tends to use his intellect to better taunt both his comrades and his enemies. However, when he’s nervous, he tends to sporadically flip from silence to babbling, and he often doesn’t realize what he’s saying. He doesn’t back down from a fight, but he can hardly tolerate pain, so he tries to keep his battles in the verbal realm. As a medic, he’s actually quite skilled, though his grasp on the cosmetic end of repair leaves something to be desired. Functionality is more important to him than how nice a thing looks, which has caused something of a rift between him and Knock Out. That and his accidental scratching of the CMO’s paint on two separate occasions. Graceful and quick, he’s an accomplished flier, but his hubris leads him to making many mistakes as far as formation flying is concerned; he’ll turn too tightly or tilt up too far and throw himself off balance. RELATIONSHIPS: No one really understands how Carrion managed to get so close to Starscream. Most likely, it’s sheer dumb persistence; he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He forced himself into every available nook and cranny that he could, and even when he was pushed, shoved, and kicked away, he came right back the moment he could. The pair do end up bonding, by which I mean Starscream choses Carrion to as a mate. So that’s going to happen. As for other relationships, the only ‘friend’ Carrion could be considered to have is another OC (not mine, though) named Ekstrak. Eks is a weapon’s specialist, very self-assured and patient, and old enough to understand that sometimes younger people are stupid and forgive Carrion for being a dumb piece of scrap. Eks is also responsible for teaching Carrion Cybertronian, as that is all he will speak. Carrion, having been built after the planet was all but abandoned, finds the language to be a novelty. He spends a bit more time with Knock Out than strictly makes either of them comfortable. Their relationship can be described as prickly at best, Carrion having on two separate occasions accidently scratched the CMO’s paint pretty badly, without the proper apologies given. Thing is, even without that between them, Carrion is fundamentally disturbed by the automobile, and would have a hard time getting along with him anyway. They bicker, but underneath it, Knock Out actually seems to have an eye on Carrion’s best interest. Soundwave is another mech Carrion is forced to be in contact with more than he would like. Soundwave frightens him, but he is supposed to report all intelligence to the spy master after scouting missions. This generally involves a lot of babble and has on at least one occasion ended up quite poorly. SO: That’s all I can think of right now. If you have any specific questions, feel free to drop me a line either here, on DeviantArt (SenkoWakimarin is my handle there), or at the email address provided for flames. Enjoy my work, otherwise. |
