I did not learn about fanfic as part of my social culture: I learned about it from younger friends. I make my living writing nonfiction. I have placed a first novel with an agent...working on a second; and I have published some poetry. I never was interested in fanfic - when told about it I thought "what a waste of time, not to get paid!" but now that I sneaked in, I am absolutely addicted, and I'm really enjoying reading many of you!

Oddly, I first read a lot of slash, and loved it because I was amazed at the quality of some of the writing. Then I read a lot of the M rated pieces...There is actually a literary genre - "literary eroticism" - which is well, porn that is extremely well-written, with depth, plot and emotion. That is exactly what many of you are doing here. It is amazing and inspiring. (I can always use inspiration for a good love scene.)

I wrote the first one I am posting here as a game...for a bunch of fans of Dr. Reid/Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds). I enjoyed it, read some slash, and came here to read more.

So...here I am. LOL Looking forward to connecting with people, inspiration, and learning from you all. (The best writers never stop learning, and never stop being open to learning from non-published writers. ;) )
