Five years after Mirai gets her memories back, she and her friends are adults, trying to live normal lives. But when the Nase Clan is expelled from the Society, it becomes clear that Mirai and Akihito are in grave danger. They now have to hide, passing as normal college students and dodging danger. But Mirai's blood still marks her. And Akihito's inner monster still haunts him.

With Mirai's memory still not the way it used to be, she and Akihito have started anew. But in some of their interactions, she can't help but ask what happened before. Instead of waiting for her to remember, Akihito decides to write down his own memories of her, and with the help of his friends, he creates a collection of stories about the past Mirai. Its title? Kyoukai no Kanata.
