Rosalee Rester has merged her photography, sewing and painting skills onto canvas and created Portland In Stitches. She runs around her rapidly changing hometown of Portland, Oregon photographing scenes that to her capture her town before they disappear.
She sketches her scenes onto canvas, painting them and using free motion machine embroidery, accentuates the painting with thread. She creates only one painting per scene that she turns into postcards and posters before it is sold.
Rosalee also uses her graphic design skills to turn the scene into digitized graphics that are printed onto a multitude of items including t-shirts, mugs, greeting cards, magnets, journals and stickers.
