![]() Author has written 11 stories for Flash. “I believed that I wanted to be a poet, but deep down I just wanted to be a poem” I like to read, write, and fangirl. I have way too many ships, but I only write for Barry/Caitlin from The Flash. Guess my muse is very particular. Find me on tumblr! [ eccacia . tumblr . com ] Update Schedule Readers of wonderful you came by always ask me when I'll be updating, and back when I believed that I had a modicum of discipline to my person, I responded by citing a definite date or timeline. Well, no more. I've since come to terms with the fact that I have zero self-discipline, which means I'll probably never have a predictable update schedule. Honestly, my readers are saints for having to put up with me. Writing Process I'd say life is the culprit behind my sporadic updates, but it's also partly because of my writing process. I think it starts by me not writing for quite some time. During that period of not-writing, I incubate ideas, catalogue experiences, jot down scraps of conversation... basically I just live life and absorb as much of it as I can. But once I'm struck with inspiration, I take everything I've absorbed and start writing like a maniac. I get utterly consumed by it for around two to three weeks. My social life becomes non-existent. I become absent-minded at work (more than I usually am, at least). I start writing whole dialogue exchanges in my head during my commute home. For that period of time, my life is reduced to a haze of words, coffee, and bad sleep hygiene, so much so that what my characters are saying to each other sound more vivid than what people in real life are saying to my face. I also edit obsessively - it takes me three or four drafts to get a chapter right, and unlike other writers I don't put the work aside for like a week before I get back to it. I leave it for a day at most, because if I leave it for more than that, I'll never pick it up again until a bazillion months later. So I write and edit nonstop, sacrifice my social life and my work on the altar of writing, and then publish the chapter. The moment I hit publish, though, I snap out of my writing haze, and scramble to get my life back on track. Friends are called. Apologies are made. A shit-ton of backlog work is accomplished. I slowly drift away from writing, until inspiration (or crushing guilt, although they often co-occur) strikes again, and then the cycle repeats itself. I know, it's not exactly healthy, but what can I say, it's how I work. I can't seem to do what other fic writers are doing - you know, the very responsible, adult-sounding thing of having a routine and patiently putting in 500 words a day until a first draft is completed. Nope, it's just not me. I see the wisdom in it, though, and occasionally I get lured into trying it again in hopes that maybe it'll stick this time, but alas, to no avail. For now, the best I can do is to work with how I work. I hope you guys understand. Fic Status (as of June 2018) wonderful you came by is almost finished. I've decided that we have 2 more chapters to go for the story proper, and then one more chapter for the epilogue. Again, I can't give you a date for the next update, but I can assure you that I won't abandon it. All You Need Is Love will be updated sporadically. My internal guideline for the fics here is that I should just write whatever comes to mind, without overthinking or over-researching or over-editing, and since fluff and banter come easily to me, most of the fics will be fluffy and banter-y. I do have one or two angsty pieces in mind, but those will be rare. Brief Life Update (as of June 2018) I just finished taking a test for admission into graduate studies. I'll find out in a month's time if I get in. I don't know how busy I'll be once I start, so I'm taking advantage of this brief reprieve to write. Me and Social Media ...we just don't mix. I don't have a Twitter, IG, or Snapchat, and I rarely use Facebook. I figured that if I'm already struggling with being a Functional Adult with my short attention span and my ability to get obsessed easily, what more if I'm on various social media platforms? I'll never get anything done. You can message me on tumblr, though, or PM me here. It takes me awhile to reply but I eventually come 'round to it. :) Anyway, that's all. Feel free to browse through my fics, especially if you ship Snowbarry. I'm just a huge Snowbarry trash can and nothing brings me more joy than knowing I made a fellow shipper's day with my stories, so if you like my work, don't be shy to let me know. ;) |
