Aamot studied painting in the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (Norwegian Country wide Academy of Craft together with Art Industry and Norwegian Country wide Academy of Fine Arts), and film with Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm. Aamot is known for his work for a painter, electronic painter, art photographer, graphic artist, motion picture director, tonal-image composer and cultural author. Much of his work consists of creating electronic tonal images thereby his work contains elements of photography but is hard to pigeon hole.
