Author has written 8 stories for Harry Potter, Commander in Chief, and Dragon Age. Hey everyone, So on this website I go by Lady Urquentha, after a character (not one of my favorite characters, so I have no idea why I chose it!) in one of my favorite books. Also, because when I named myself I was about eleven and totally obsessed with the whole princess idea that most girls go through. I think i've gotten over that a little, but it's kinda become an inside joke now. Anyway, about me...I'm a woman (don't ask my age, you won't get it) who has been writing for a...long time. I can't actually work it out. I've sat down to try and I can't remember that far back. Historically I've had trouble sticking to things (just see below for those debacles), but I've done better in some off-line things i've done recently. I tend to read what I write, so fantasy and sci-fi with a little smattering of other things thrown in. Admittedly, I'm a sucker for romance, with weird pairings (AD/MM anyone? And yes, I'm aware that Dumbledore is gay but these were all written before that and since when have fanfiction writers ever let a little thing like canon get in the way?), which my friends say mirrors my real life interests. Personally, I don't know what they're talking about! ;) And that's all the personal information you're getting out of me for the moment... Influences on my Writing J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter) Tamora Pierce (The Immortals; The Protector Of the Small; The Song of the Lioness; The Circle of Magic) David Eddings (The Belgariad; The Mallorean; Polgara the Sorceress; Belgarath the Sorcerer; the Rivan Codex) L.E. Modesitt (Saga of Recluce) Raymond E Feist (Empire Trilogy) Anne McCaffery (Dragonriders of Pern; The Talent series; Brainships series) Clive Cussler (The Dirk Pitt series) J. R. R Tolkien (Lord of the Rings) Melanie Rawn (Dragon Prince) My Writing Harry Potter My Harry Potter stories are discontinued for the moment. I've run out of ideas and my writing is deteriorating, so I've given up on it. Seven years down the track, it's really hard to pick up on something that wasn't all that good to start with. I'm really sorry about this to whoever read them, but if i can't write it properly, I'm not going to post it. If anyone wants to adopt them, please feel free to PM me. Dragon Age In the last year, I've taken up playing the Dragon Age video game. I'm now in the process of writing a novel for that series, which is being posted below. | |||||||
