A second glance at Elizabeth, and Darcy felt an immediate pull. In a library one evening, his guard dropped, and he couldn't help himself. It was not a lady's imagination that led a rapid jump from admiration to matrimony skipping over love, but it was rather the heated actions of both. Deep feelings tend to get in the way when hidden and can undo the potential for happiness.

When Elizabeth Darcy and her family are summoned to Rosings Park, they expect Lady Catherine simply wants her annual visit to be paid. What Elizabeth finds is a community suffering through the after-effects of disaster and a family whose relationships and prosperity are irrevocably linked to the dead.
