While Coulson's recovering from being stabbed in the chest by a magical spear, Fury is rapidly running out of Agents willing to play babysitter for the newly founded Avengers. So he calls in Captain John Watson, late of the British Royal Army, and blogger and best friend to the infamously antisocial presumably deceased Sherlock Holmes.

He didn't know how long he held this connection, pouring his magic into Arthur's body and soul, but when he next looked down, Arthur's wound was completely gone. Finally, gasping, Merlin wrenched his hands away from Arthur, whose eyes flew open. They were glowing gold. (T for some gore.)

Because one never knows when someone might poison the prince's meals... or maybe Arthur has an ulterior motive for having Merlin eat half his breakfast.

Merlin is arrested for sorcery - Arthur's not saying who helped him escape - Arthur thinks that Merlin's gone, only... how on earth is it that he continues to defeat magical creatures and not remember it? Is there a sorcerer in the shadows, helping them?
