The night of the shipwreck, Prince Eric jumps in after Ariel when she is hit on the head. He's shocked to find that mermaids are real when he saves her from the storm, but his curiosity out weighs his fear of the unknown. How much would Eric knowing about mermaids have changed the story? What would happen if Ariel and Eric had to work together? What role would the sea witch play?

As a 16 year old, Ariel is not as foolish as people believe. Saving the prince brings forward womanly feelings that she's never encountered, while Eric is consumed by the memory of the smoldering woman that tastes like the sea. This is a more realistic version of what would have happened.

Eric meets Ariel without realising who she is, and his thoughts are explored as he quickly begins to fall in love with her.

Set after Eric defeats Ursula, before the wedding. Explores the relationship between Eric and Ariel before they are wed and Ariel's decision to leave her previous life behind. Mature themes in later chapters.

True love doesn't happen in 3 days. What about 3 months? In this alternate storyline Ariel has 3 months to spend on land with Eric, getting to know him and what it truly means to be human. It’s basically a switch—Ariel is the human, Eric is the merman. Some things had to be changed, like Eric having merbrothers instead of Ariel have six human sisters, etc., to make sense. Can Eric deal with the challenges Ariel had to face?
