![]() Hello there! I am a she-nerd/English major/EU dual citizen and a constant (too constant for my own sanity) analyzer. My loves are cross-stitching, drawing, playing around in Photoshop, feline-related things, tea, candles, stuffed animals, and dark chocolate. My current ambitions are to get some degrees, eventually move to England, and never really grow up. I'm terribly attached to my favorite fandoms, and a set of companions from various novels (plus a few TV shows and films), live comfortably inside my head. Fantasy is my everything, but I also adore children's literature, classic literature, folk literature, Greek mythology, and historical fiction--brownie points for anything written by a British author in qualifying categories. And let's not forget poetry, although I don't claim to be a poet myself or a particularly great poetic interpreter. Additionally, I have a weakness for well-written young adult books (usually of the fantasy genre, shockingly enough), but aside from a few guilty pleasures, I tend to stay away from bestseller fiction, romances, and teenage paranormal mysteries/romances. On a side note, I grew up with a science-fiction-loving father and while I do like some things I've checked out in that category thus far, I'm trying to appreciate the genre more. For starters, watching Firefly and Doctor Who are two items on my to-do list, as well as reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Riverworld, and Ender's Game series. Finally, my screen time is often, though not exclusively, composed of watching movies, oodles of BBC, noodles of PBS, and miniseries. :) In case you wanted to know any more useless facts about me, or if you're especially, desperately bored, feel free to read my self-centered rambling below regarding my favorites and thoughts/waffling on those favorites. It's an odd assortment, I must warn you! Still, cheers, hugs, and brownies to you all! -- It's not a portfolio by any means, but here's my deviantART: {coming soon} -- Any Harry Potter stories I write will not be posted to FF, therefore, visit my HPFF account: {coming soon} Other Interests Learning Italian and/or French, Native American cultures, model trains, pressed pennies, stained glass windows, dolls, Winnie the Pooh, Beatrix Potter Series Books: Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, His Dark Materials, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Inkheart Trilogy, Howl's [Moving] Castle Series Films: Pirates of the Caribbean, [Disney's] Halloweentown 1,2, 3 (not 4!), Hellboy, Shrek Comics: Disney's Gargoyles (Slave Labor Graphics) Novels Excluding series, still many favorites. Regardless, off the top of my head: Pane e tulipani (Bread and Tulips), Whale Rider, Fried Green Tomatoes, Witness, Chocolat, French Kiss, Kate & Leopold, Labyrinth, Peter Pan (2003), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971), Bicentennial Man, and many of the Hallmark fairytale interpretations. I also love animation. I don't pretend to explore anime/manga to heavily, but I know a bit here and there and I'm a Hayao Miyazaki fan, so certainly Kiki's Delivery Service, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Castle in the Sky. However, I also like multiple Disney and non-Disney animations of various sorts--impossible to name them all, but let's scratch the surface, shall we? Monsters, Inc. and the Toy Story trilogy from the Disney/Pixar haul go without saying...Treasure Planet, an awesome hybrid of literature, the Disney personality, and 2D and 3D animation...The Adventures of Mouse and Mole (UK), The Wind in the Willows (UK), The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Black Cauldron, Anastasia, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Tarzan, Aladdin, Hercules (not really the movie, but for Meg, Phil, and Hades)... Music A spectrum of genres and their respective composers and/or artists...classical, orchestral/instrumental/soundtrack, jazz, old-time crooners, opera, folk, selected country, pop, Europop, classic rock and other rock sub-categories... Although I implore you to look up pianist George Winston and saxophonist Gato Barbieri, who are stunning. Andrea Bocelli is the singer I'd listen to every day for the rest of my life, if I could only pick one. Games PlayStation: Kingdom Hearts PC: Harry Potter, Sims |
