It was sunny outside. The First day of summer vacation and the weather was amazing. McQuaid stepped outside in his dinosaur boxers and stretched while squinting from the sun in his eyes. He looked down and saw a pinecone at his feet. " it's been a year, get yourself together." McQuaid said to himself. From the corner of his eye he could see a boy on a bike coming his way. It was Tyler. McQuaid sighed. He wasn't exactly in the mood to have friends over, but it's not like he's usually in the mood to do anything. " What's up dork !" Tyler said enthusiastically. McQuaid made a face of confusion. " What do you want?."

. " Dude, There's a party at Emaline's house on saturday, and Leslie is gonna be there hehe." Tyler replied while leaning his bike on the side of McQuaid's house. McQuaid rolled his eyes.

" Good for you. You know I hate parties."

Tyler huffed. " Emaline will be there."

McQuaid put his hands on his temples in frustration. "I told you a million times me and her are over."

Later that day Kate messner got dressed in her favorite vintage sweater and headed to Emaline's house. On her way she turned on her favorite album that luke gave her, and jammed out. Kate arrived in Emaline's driveway and Emaline immediately ran outside in excitement. " Hey cutie" Emeline said with a big smile on her face. Emaline grabbed Kate's hand and ran into her house. "I missed you, I haven't seen you in like 10 days."

Kate giggles. "You just can't live without me can you?"

Emaline blushes " nope "

The two girls lean in for a kiss but get enturrupted. " "Emaline!" her mom yells. " Is kate here for dinner?" She asks. Emaline looks down and smiles. "Yes Mom!". The girls walk to the kitchen and sit at the table in seats across from each other.

Emaline's mom walks in with a large bowl of mashed potatoes and steak.

" dig in " She said politely.

Hours later, Kate and Emaline are both sprawled on Emaline's couch.

" Can't wait for the party this weekend " Emaline said quietly while cuddling Kate close to her chest. Kate smiled and fell asleep in Emaline's arms.

The next friday morning, Emaline woke up leaving Kate peacefully asleep on her couch and made breakfast. After the eggs and bacon were done, She left them on the table for Kate and for her to wake up to, and drove to the store to buy things for her party. Meanwhile, of course Tyler slept at McQuaids house without McQuaid having a choice. McQuaid woke up to Tyler talking in front of the mirror.

" What the hell are you doing?" McQuaid asked,while yawning.

"Im practicing how to talk to Leslie… I never really talked to a girl, and I think I have a chance with her!". McQuaid laughed. " Good luck with that."

Emaline entered to store and bought loads of soda, and snacks, and decor to last a life time. Emaline's phone started to ring and she picked it up from her back pocket. "Hello?" she said.

It was Kate. " Hey where are you? "

Emaline told Kate she was at the store and that she made her breakfast. Emaline Ended the call and started to head home. Time quickly passded by and Kate was back home. Emaline put her pajamas on, brushed her teeth, and jumped into bed. Emaline couldn't help but smile, knowing an awesome party would take place tomorrow. Emaline slowly closed her eyes and drifted to sleep.

The next day… Emaline got a knock on the door. Emaline opened the door, to find a girl with short, dirty blonde hair, big glasses, and a pleasent smile. The girl roughly shook Emaline's hand. " Hi! I'm Carly! Im your new neighbor, I just moved here from Ohio."

Emaline smiked back politely. " Oh hi Carly! I'm Emaline. I think we're gonna be great friends."

Carly giggled, " you're so sweet! Well I have to get going, I just wanted to get to know the people I'll be living near."

Emaline waved and started to close the door and then remembered…. " WAIT. I'm having a party here tonight at 9:30. It would be a great oppurtunity for you to meet people that live here in Boring."

" Oh ya, I'll totally be there!" Carly replied.

Carly left and Emaline started decorating for the party right away. Her Mom drove off for a late job interview. So Emaline had the whole house to herself… well, she had the whole house to almost everyone at boring high.

About six to seven hours and thirty minutes passed by and people would start arriving soon. Emaline curled her hair and wore vibrant makeup like always, and a kind of poofy red dress with a choker and brown boots. Right as Emaline turned around, the doorbell rang. It was Kate! Of course she would be the first guest. They hugged and took a seat on the couch. They talked a little bit and after about twenty- four minutes, Carly, and Leslie arrived. The girls danced to NSYNC for a while and ate tons of food and then Luke arrived.

(Back at McQuaids house. )

McQuaid gelled back his hair and put on a suit and tie… He didn't exactly know it wasn't a formal party. " Why am I doing this" He thought to himself. McQuaid got in his dad's car and picked up Tyler who also " tried" to gel his fuzzy hair back. They got to Emaline's house and knocked on the door. The door opened and Tyler and McQuaid stepped inside and greeted everyone. There was only one face McQuaid didn't find familiar, and it was Carly's. Carly was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Emaline cought McQuaid staring and broke his stare by simply interrupting it with her talking. " Oh , this is Carly. She's my new neighbor."

Carly waved shyly and McQuaid waved back.

" Now that everyone's here we can play stripping trivia!" Emaline calls out enthusiastically.

" What the hell is that?" Tyler asks.

" I will ask factual questions and if you get it wrong, you take a piece of clothing or an accessory off, if you get it correct… good for you." Emaline replied.

McQuaid started to panic and whispered in Tyler's ear. " I - I don't know about this Tyler halpppp".

Tyler laughed and Ignored McQuaid. They started to play the game. Luke was first. " Luke" Emaline asked " On which island was Napoleon exiled following his defeat at waterloo?"

Luke scratched his for a little bit… " was it St. helena?"

Emaline looked amazed." HA, actually ya!"

" Yes!" Luke said under his breath. Now it was Tyler.

" Here's an easy one Tyler… what's the capital of australia?"

Tyler looked confused… " tur…key?" He said jokingly.

"HA NOPE ITS CANBERRA."

Tyler laughed and rolled his eyes,then started to take off his over shirt, and McQuaid looks as if he's seeing live nudity in front of him. Time goes by and Leslie, Tyler, Luke, and Kate already went. Now only Carly and McQuaid were left.

They awkwardly looked at each other. Carly hoped to jesus she would get her trivia question correct because she was only wearing a short, pink dress and she had left her shoes in Emaline's living room because she didn't want to track any dirt anywhere.

Emaline looked at Carly " Ok Carly, your turn…. " What is the largest fish in the ocean?" Emaline asked smiling.

" Oh, easy… A blue whale!"

Emaline looks down… " Nope, a whale shark. Take it off baby." ( Kate grunts and nudges Emaline) " whoops sorry" she says.

Carly looks terrified. She slowly starts to zip the back of her dress down. McQuaid starts to shiver and his glasses fog up. Carly looks at McQuaid blushing and covers her body with her arms. McQuaid stands up. " "I'm sorry. I can't be here" He runs off to the car and immediately drives home. Everyone looks at each other in awkward silence. Tyler looks mad. " Aye that was my ride"

A few hours later, everyone is back home and Tyler gos back to McQuaids house. He knocks on McQuaids bedroom window.

" What Tyler?!" McQuaid hollars.

Tyler opens the window and climbs into his room without an invitation. " What happened at Emaline's house?, why did you suddenly just run off after that Carly girl was getting undressed, that would of just made me wanna stay even more haha."

McQuaid put his palm on his forehead. " I'm just not used to that Tyler…"

Tyler looked confused. " I don't understand, it was sooo hot dude, who cares if you've never seen boobs before, they're still awesome!" Tyler showed effort in inappropriately cheering McQuaid up… but it didn't work.

McQuaid looked at the ground. " I'm fine" he said, while hopping into bed. Tyler turned the lights off and climbed back out of his bedroom. "Bye" he said under his breath.

Carly ended up sleeping over at Emaline's place.

Carly woke up with a loud yawn. " Morning" she said to Emaline, waking her up.

Emaline stretched and got out of bed. " I didn't even remember going to sleep" She said while putting her hair in a messy ponytail.

" The party kinda ended after McQuaid randomly ran off." She said with an awkward smile. " I think I made him uncomfortable. I feel so bad"

Carly put her face in her hand. Emaline laughed. "That's how he is. He's just shy around girls."

Carly smiled.. " that's adorable. Do you know where he lives? I think I might apologize."

Emaline nodded and wrote his address down on a sticky note.

Carly glanced at the sticky note and immediately zoomed outside to run to McQuaid's house.

Carly got to McQuaid's porch and knocked on his door.

McQuaid put his finger between the blinds in his bedroom and was surprised to see Carly.
