"The Idiot’s Guide to ABO Dynamics

Once upon a time, ABO was really new and no one knew what it was. I wrote this to explain it lol.

ABO Dynamics is the new kink on the block, a really kinky ass kink that everyone seems to love. I personally am very partial to it for several reasons. First and foremost, because it includes my favorite kink of all- boys being in “Heat.”

ABO DYNAMICS ARE NOT WRITTEN IN STONE! THERE ARE NO SET RULES! It’s specific to the author each and every time, that’s one of the fun things about it, so don’t be surprised when you’re thrown a curve ball in the middle of an ABO fic like the inclusion of certain toys or methods, because it’s pretty much free game as long as you’ve got an Alpha and an Omega in the fic.

But while there are no rules, there are some GENERAL GUIDELINES for the ABO universe.

Facts about “Alpha’s”:

In most fics, the Alpha is the dominant one. In the more extreme fics, the Alphas run society and make all the rules, they’re looked up to and respected, and they’re the only ones allowed to mate with the Omegas.Most of the time an Alpha can tell when an Omega is in heat.Alpha’s can be very animalistic or feral in fics, very masculine, and when they’re “Unbound” or haven’t “Imprinted” they can be very dangerous. If an Alpha that doesn’t have a mate is on the loose around an Omega who’s in heat, the Alpha’s instincts may or may not take over and it can get ugly. “Rapey” is the term a certain other author used, and tbh it’s accurate a lot of times. Although “rape” isn’t quite the word to use since the Omega that is in heat is useless just mindless and wanting to get their brains fucked out and it doesn’t matter who it is, so the idea that the sex isn’t consensual is kind of…. well a joke.In a lot of fics, Alpha’s are the Dom, wheras the Omegas are the Sub. And in the more extreme fiction, that means that Omegas aren’t allowed to look Alpha’s in the eye, they have to “kneel” when told, and if they don’t follow any Alpha’s orders they can be severely punished.

There’s other shit, but those are the more common themes you find in ABO fics.

There isn’t much to say about Betas, other than they’re pretty much cannon fodder. They’re there, they’re normal, nothing special. They’re the most common in the populace. A lot of times Alpha’s and Omegas are rare, especially Omega’s, but that still doesn’t make Beta’s dominant. There isn’t much other than that to say about Beta’s.

As for Omegas… There’s a lot of different interpretations of the Omega role in fiction. A few takes on the Omega role include, but are not limited to:

The Omega has, what I like to call, a “boypussy.” It’s never really explained, but it’s generally accepted that an Omega is basically a female whether or not they’re biologically a male. They can have a dick, but their ass is basically a pussy. Some people might disagree with that I suppose, and frankly, I’m not 100% sure on how the anatomy works there, how wombs work, but a lot of mpreg is involved most of the time (personally i don’t like to include mpreg, but it’s a huge part of ABO Dynamics). When the Omega goes into heat, their “boypussy” (I’m sorry i just love that word) lubricates itself, and how much it does so really depends on the author. It can be a little or a lot. And a good deal of the time, like when dogs fuck, the Alpha will cum several times to lubricate the Omega.An Omega’s heat cycle isn’t set in stone, it really depends on the author too. It’s generally once a month like a woman’s menstrual cycle, and it’s become quite popular as of late to give the Omega’s a break by implementing “suppressants”. The Omegas can take pills, or shots, or some kind of pseudo- birth control to suppress their Heats. Some authors don’t include the pills and such to suppress their heat, and instead include them as straight up birth control- so the Omega doesn’t get pregnant.Omegas are the weaker of the species generally. In some fics they’re prized and regarded with respect and in some they’re treated like slutty whores who just like to fuck. Sometimes both.

Again, there’s other shit I’m probably not thinking of, but that’s the gist.

There’s a few certain themes in ABO fics, and here’s a couple you’ll commonly see:

Knotting. It’s more popular in werewolf type fics, but it’s slowly leaking into non-animal fics too. A lot of people don’t know what knotting is. To be blunt, it’s when a dog’s dick swells up really thick at the base, and when he’s ready he’ll shove it along with the rest of his dick into the bitch’s pussy and then he’ll cum, and the purpose of the knot is so that the cum doesn’t slip out. It’s increases the rate of impregnation. A lot of Alpha’s knot these days in fics, and a good deal of them only knot with Omegas, and sometimes only with Omegas in heat. Depends on the author (sorry for sounding like a broken record with that). Some Alpha’s can even control when they knot.Imprinting, “Collaring” or “Binding”. This is a common theme for the romantics out there- When an Alpha and Omega are meant for eachother, they see eachother and then they’ll Imprint. Depending on the fic, they’ll immediately go into a sex crazed trance like state and start trying to fuck eachother senseless, or they’ll just realize that they were made for eachother and never leave eachother’s side. An Alpha who has Imprinted is much less likely to mount an Omega who isn’t his mate. Being “bound” is pretty much the same as being “imprinted”. It’s a star-crossed lover situation, soulmates, that kinda thing. There may or may not be a Collaring Ceremony held between the Alpha and Omega. It’s like a marriage when it happens though. And I’m not 100% sure if non-imprinted pairs can have a Ceremony or not. Not all Alpha/Omega pairs Collar one another either, it’s a less used theme for ABO fics that are just written for the sex, it’s usually reserved for the longer fics with a plot.

Idk that’s basically it. The one thing you just have to know is that ABO Dynamics is like… It’s kinda like Pack Dynamics with wolves. The Alpha fucks the Omega and Betas are just cannon fodder, part of the pack."
