![]() Author has written 4 stories for Rescue: Special Ops. A couple of facts about me. 1. I am a Christian, so I believe in God as my Lord and Jesus Christ as my saviour and faith in Him being the way to Heaven. If you are not a Christian, but another religion I respect your beliefs and your faith in another God. I ask that you have this same respect for me and my beliefs. If you do not have a religion at all then I also respect this as your choice for either believing in something different or for being an atheist. Please respect my choice for having a faith as I respect yours for not having one. 2. I am a woman with Autism. This means I have difficulties in all areas of my life that sometimes aren’t easy to live with. Being autistic does not mean I am a freak or weird. It just means I am not like you. I am the person God made me to be. Everybody is different, some people are just more different than others. To any parents who are raising children with a disability, illness or syndrome, or have just found out that their child has a disability, illness or syndrome and are now questioning the life they thought they would have as parents, know that this doesn’t mean you can’t have the life you thought you would have. It may be a little different to what you expected, but it doesn’t mean it will be bad or you won’t be happy. You make the life you want to live, you may just have to adjust certain things to make it a reality. I read a quote somewhere that says: ’God gives Special Children to Special Mummies and Daddies.’ Having a child with a disability isn’t the end of the world. If you are asking yourself ’why me?’ then just think of this quote and know that God gave you this child because He trusts you to care for this special creation of His. He could think of no one better to raise His child than you and that is an honour. God never gives us more than we can handle in life, and so no matter what happens, what challenges this child brings or if this child doesn’t or can't survive their disability, illness or syndrome, God knows that you can handle this. You can survive this and your life will be better for knowing this very special child. If this helps even just one person, then it is worth me writing it. If you would like to know more about Autism I am happy to answer any questions. I wish you a pleasant day and thank you for visiting my profile page.
