When Castiel and Gabriel pay for their groceries at Dean's checkout Dean can't help but stare at Cas - not because he's blind, but because he's gorgeous. He's impressed with how well Cas manages without his sight, but unfortunately the customer behind them is less than patient. When he finishes his shift, Cas is waiting for him.

Set post-Swan Song. In result of Sam being locked in Lucifer's Cage, Dean has vivid nightmares. When his insomnia becomes too hard to ignore, he leaves Lisa's house and throws himself into hunting again. But as the demons in his head continue to haunt him, he pushes himself to the point of exhaustion. When Castiel returns, he provides a...unique solution to Dean's problem.

Castiel wants to ask Dean a question. Dean wants to ask Castiel a question. Both want to go first.

S9E22 Stairway to Heaven coda: After Dean attacked Gadriel in the bunker and Sam and Castiel wrestled him back, Dean retreated to his room. Some time later, Castiel came to check up on him.

Dean only needs Cas to be on his side this one time. (Destiel. Spoilers for episode 9.22, 'Stairway to Heaven').

The hunter can't help but take note of how small Cas seems now, curled up against him, unobtrusive and unintimidating. It's a far cry from how the angel was when he first met him, busting in the old barn in the biggest power display he'd yet to see. Dean had really caused him to fall so, so far.

But with a more permanent destination: Cas falls and the universe shifts. Sam and Dean have to figure out exactly what to do with a human Cas, and all three struggle to live a more normal life.

While on a hunt, Dean and Cas get locked in a store room. When no one can fly away, and without Sam interrupting, certain things come to light and certain feelings are explored as there's nothing they can do but talk.

Cas - celestial Castiel, not his holy-tax-accountant vessel - is on the brink of death when Dean makes an offer. Turns out Dean didn't know the half of what he was offering.

AU following 8x23. Dean has a dying brother to take care of, and his favorite angel is MIA. With the host of Heaven fallen and Hell under new management, Dean has a lot of problems on his hands. Thankfully, someone upstairs cares enough to make sure he has the people on hand he really needs. Pairings: Destiel and others.

When Dean finally came back, he looked broken-even more than before. Or when Cas wrote a note and left, leaving Sam alone to welcome Dean back as best he can.

No one's riding shotgun, no one can ride shotgun. Dean's jaw clenches and he hits the gas. Nothing ahead but miles of regret, and he doesn't want to keep it waiting. Coda for 9.10 and 9.11 in which Sam, Dean, and Cas try to heal separately and together.

I decided to write my version of what happens in season 9 during and after the last episode, 9x09. Please note that this is a Dean and Castiel story but also includes Sam as I love all three characters. Rated T for some violence and thoughts of death/suicide. Reviews are always welcome :)

Dean Winchester was twenty-six when a car accident killed his father and left him paralysed from the waist down. A year and a half later, Dean is in a wheelchair and lives in a care home in Kansas, where he spends his days waiting to die. It's only when Castiel Novak starts volunteering at the care home that Dean starts to wonder if a changed life always equals a ruined one.

But the next day, Sam gets a call from Castiel, who's about to be discharged from Lawrence Memorial, in great need of help and insistent that Dean be kept in the dark about his survival. Cas has been avoiding Dean for weeks, but something keeps drawing them back to each other. Maybe it's the fact that they're falling in love. (Cas's POV, set just after 8x17. Some spoilers.)

Castiel's bag seems to acquire trash and scraps and receipts. It takes a while for Dean to understand what they mean.

Castiel doesn't understand Christmas, but perhaps it can fix his relationship with Dean. (Just Christmas fluff.)

There's something going on between Dean and Cas, and Sam is determined to figure out what. Meanwhile, Castiel puzzles over surprising aspects of his and Dean's relationship.
