![]() Author has written 1 story for Percy Jackson and the Olympians. TO MY STORY FOLLOWERS: sorry about not updating in so long... The thing is, I lost my USB, which contained my fanfiction drafts, all my planning for the stories, and my schoolwork. And then I went through a bit of a rough spot in school with grades and time management. BUT I WILL BE BACK, as cheesy as that sounds. I'm done wallowing in my childish self-pity, and will start writing again, trying to retrieve whatever possible from that which is lost. (there might be some discrepancies in the story details, though). At least this has taught me to ALWAYS keep a backup copy somewhere. And even though when I say "soon" it usually means a range between 2 weeks to 2 months, I will try to update ASAP. Again, SORRY!
So seriously, what do I write on this How about this: My Name: Evelyn ( My age: still eligible for the Hunger Games. City I currently live in: Shanghai, China My favorite color: turquoise Favorite books of all times: Favorite author: Oscar Wilde My favorite movie: The Lion King (yes disney) Interesting/random/useless facts 'bout me I'm bilingual in Chinese and English, but I like writing with English much better I can get along with mostly everyone, although... ...I'm not a social person. Really. I find ways to get out of going to parties and dances...and I prefer texts or emails to actually calling someone or meeting up... ...and I don't have facebook. or twitter. or tumblr. I define myself as a wallflower... ...although I hate having to define/label something... ...which results in the conclusion that I am a really conflicted person I never get jetlagged, probably thanks to the fact that I don't have a solid sleeping schedule. I mean, I can stay up till four or five in the morning, and I can fall asleep almost anywhere, anytime I have never watched/read Harry Potter (and I don't have plans to, at least in the near future). I should; I know it's basically the most popular children's books ever. I can never win an intellectual debate, even with hours of preparation) I respect all people's different beliefs and religions, but I hate it when they try to shove it down my throat I don't believe in rumors easily I find it frustrating that a lot of people write "defiantly" when they mean to write "definitely" Funny things: There's a fine line between sanity and insanity. I believe I crossed it several hundred miles back. There is a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line. The difference between brilliance and stupidity is that brilliance has its limits. Life isn't passing me by, it's trying to run me over. I stopped fighting my inner demons. We're on the same side now. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You have the right to remain silent, so please just shut up. Parents spend the first years of our lives teaching us how to walk and talk, and the rest to sit down and shut up. Dear Math, The evening news is where they tell you "Good evening", and then proceed to list countless reasons why it's not. When nothing goes right...go left. I did what they said and took the road less traveled - now where the hell am I? Stupidity killed the cat. Curiosity was framed. Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. Why do we teach kids that violence is not the answer and then have them read about wars in school that "solved" America's problems? "To be is to do." Socrates Those who criticize our generation forget who raised it. The shortest horror story ever: PROCRASTINATORS, UNITE! . . . Tomorrow. Don't steal. The government hates the competition. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else. Practice makes perfect, but since nobody's perfect, why practice? It takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown... and fewer still to ignore someone completely. Our role models 60 years ago would have been examples of what not to be. The 50-50-90 rule: any time you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a .90 probability you'll get it wrong. Why does a round pizza come in a square box? QUOTES: "The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. "If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story." - Orson Welles "I don't want to think that the stories are finite; I want to feel like they can go on forever." - Steven Moffat "Fairytales, as G.K. Chesterton once pointed out, are not true. They are more than true. Not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be defeated." -Neil Gaiman "Love is a familiar. Love is a devil. There is no evil angel but Love." - William Shakespeare "It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves." - William Shakespeare "We are who we pretend to be, so we must be careful who we pretend to be." - Kurt Vonnegut "Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." - Thomas Merton Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life. "Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia." - E.L. Doctorow "The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace." - Jimi Hendrix "We are but dust and shadow." - Horace Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. War does not determine who is right, only who is left. Permanency is an illusion, but this moment is forever. There’s more to success than just believing. Love doesn’t really conquer all. Time stops for no one. "Do something instead of killing time, because time is killing you." – Paulo Coelho Among creatures born into chaos, a majority will imagine an order, a minority will question the order, and the rest will be pronounced insane. "If everybody minded their own business, the world would go around a great deal faster than it does." - Lewis Carroll "The scars you can’t see are the hardest to heal." - Astrid Alauda "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." - Eleanor Roosevelt "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." - Albert Einstein It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers. “Yes: I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.” - Oscar Wilde, The Critic as Artist “There are many things that we would throw away if we were not afraid that others might pick them up." "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." - Oscar Wilde, Lady Windermere's Fan Our exsistence is nothing. All of time and space; everywhere and anywhere; every star that ever was. Where do you want to start? Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it turned into a butterfly. - Proverb "I think, therefore I am." - Descartes "Heroes aren't always the ones who win. They're the ones who lose, sometimes. But they keep fighting, they keep coming back. They don't give up. That's what makes them heroes." - City of Heavenly Fire, Cassandra Clare "So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring But our love it was stronger by far than the love “Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.” - Edgar Allan Poe, "Eleonora" "Dreams are true while they last, and do we not live in dreams?" - Alfred, Lord Tennyson, "The Higher Pantheism" "Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else." - George Orwell, 1984 "I'm not strange, weird, off, nor crazy, my reality is just different from yours." - Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland “'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?' “You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.” - Friedrich Nietzsche "Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art...It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival." C.S. Lewis The biggest mistake I have made in my life is letting people stay in my life far longer than they deserve. Crying doesn't mean you're weak; it means you've been strong for too long. Life is like a maze. We use the first half of our lives looking for the entrance, and the second half looking for the exit. "Life is like an onion: you peel one layer off at a time and sometimes you cry." -Carl Sandburg Life is like a beautiful melody, only the lyrics are messed up. "Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." - William Shakespeare, Macbeth Life is only precious because it ends. Love is like playing the piano. First you learn the rules, then you play from your heart. The quality of life is not determined by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away. "Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything's possible again. You live in the moment, you die in the moment, you take it all one day at a time." - Marie Lu, Legend "We feel glee when we escape, even if it be but from the frying pan into the fire." - Eric Hoffer "We accept the love that we think we deserve." - Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky "We are all the pieces of what we remember. We hold in ourselves the hopes and fears of those who love us. As long as there is love and memory, there is no true loss." - City of Heavenly Fire, Cassandra Clare and... "Au revoir - it doesn't mean goodbye; it means until we meet again." - Anonymous |
