Post TLJ. Hux is trying to garner support and secure funds for the First Order after the destruction of Starkiller base and the murder of Snoke. This means that Ren, as the new Supreme Leader, has to attend frivolous galas with Hux to send a message of strength and unity to the galaxy. Ren hates the galas. Even more, he hates Hux. Or is it something else he feels for Hux?
