Brewing potions helps Hermione focus and think. So, when Snape catches her and offers her a chance to brew in his private labs, she quickly agrees despite his cryptic demand that in exchange she will give him one hour of her time. After Dumbledore's death Hermione wants nothing to do with him, but what happens when Snape demands his hour during the Final Battle?

Betrayed, Hermione leaves without saying where she's going or telling anyone that she's pregnant with Ron's child, in order to protect that which is most precious to her: her child.
