First of all my name is Mariam, i am a 19 year old girl who spends way more time reading fanfiction than she should. I live in Egypt, I am in med school and my first language is Arabic, but i am fairly good in English - or so i imagine myself to be.

My favorite pastime is obviously reading though i love to write as well.

My fatal flaw is not Hubris, it's my obsession. Once i get hooked on something i obsess about it to an extreme point until i find something else to preoccupy me.

I also love Star wars and Supernatural the TV show.

My favorite types of fanfiction:

Time/ dimension travel.

Most AUs.

Memory loss.

I love the fics that explore the characters emotions, objectives and relationships with others.

I love father/son relationships and bromance. I don't hate romance exactly but i think that very few people actually know how to write it smoothly.

What i hate in fanfictions:

Mary sues, i can't stress how much i hate this. It drives me absolutely crazy.

OOCness, unless it's an Au, and the character's changed personality can be attributed to his different background and past.

Over powered heroes. This trope is especially over used in Hp fandom, i don't hate it when it's used in regulation, when harry is smarter or more powerful due to some circumstance or the other, he is after all the "Chosen One".

But i just hate it when you start reading a fic and it has an exposition in the beginning detailing all these awesome amazing stuff that harry had "accomplished". I mean i don't even see the progression, suddenly i have to accept that harry is an all powerful being with a pheonix animagus or whatever, without any real reason behind it.

Character bashing: it's alright to hate a character, and to offer motives and backgrounds to them, that might shed them in an unfavorable light. But i hate it when it's overly OOc, or when it's just used as an excuse to vent about the author's least favorite character, Or when it doesn't really add any depth or value to the story, or when it's just a way to remove a character from the story without killing him. Simply put, i hate Bashing for the sake of bashing.

My current Obsession is Star wars, And my favorite character is Obi-Wan kenobi.
