![]() Author has written 5 stories for Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Writing Info: I usually write fanfictions for Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. You can also find me on Fictionpress or Inkpop under the same name. I have a Wordpress as well, under FreshPress0801. I usually like writing the story to focus more on fantasy and plot, with a sprinkle of romance on top. I do try to weave a complex plot, and I love adding in little foreshadowing details here and there. As for reading fanfictions, I don't like pure fluff but I do adore a good love story. If you do the suspense right, it'll keep me hooked as well. I'm obsessed with the Malfoy boys, by the way, so I'm a sucker for Dramione and Scrose, no matter how retardedly written it is. I also greatly appreciate witty comedy added here and there, it keeps me interested. A series of events that moves much to fast to be natural or make sense. Cheesy, unnatural dialogue. Extremely pornographic scenes. PLEASE, if you're going to refer to that into your story, please just mildly hint at it, instead of spending a whole chapter in bit by bit detail. That's just gross and sick. Non-creative plots. BAD GRAMMAR. If you're going to take the time to write fanfictions, please spend the extra minute or two to correct your spelling and punctuation. It looks like such an unprofessional eyesore when ur storys look lik this Changing around the plot of the original story or ignoring important facts of the original story. Too much materialization than the original author intended/ Weak substance. When writers have no idea where to go with a story, and their lack of intention shows. When every single darn person has a boyfriend/girlfriend and has a happily ever after. Writing Tips Have some sort of plan of where you want to take this story. If you don't, you'll hit a dead end somewhere and lose motivation. Be careful not to get too carried away with your dialogue. Reread over and over again to make sure your conversations make sense and sound natural. Reflect on your character's personality by using descriptions of their actions. Use what I call "double takes". Anthony Horowitz is a particularly good example to follow on this. What are double takes? Double takes are details you add here and there, small details that seem irrelevant and unimportant at first, and are sure to be overlooked by the reader, but later on come into play in a major way. Being a reader is to enjoy. Being a writer is all about self-control. During occasions in your writing career, you will have instances where you really really want to write a certain description, line of dialogue, scene, etc. because you want to show the reader exactly what appears in your mind. The thing is, words translate differently when they are read by others, so you may have to refrain yourself from wording things a certain way or including the things you want to include in order to ensure your story appears well-written and not watered-down. “Many people hear voices when no-one is there. some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. | |||||||
