![]() Author has written 1 story for Avengers. Hi! I'm a 22 year old college senior who tries to balance out regular life and fanfiction. It's enough to drive a girl insane. I remembered what you said. You told me not to drink, Mum So I had a sprite instead. The way you said I would, That I didn't drink and drive, Though some friends said I should. And your advice to me was right, The party finally ended, And the kids drove out of sight.Sure to get home in one piece, I never knew what was coming, Mum Something I expected least. And I hear the policeman say, The kid that caused this wreck was drunk, Mum, his voice seems far away .As I try hard not to cry. I can hear the paramedic say, This girl is going to die. While he was flying high, Because he chose to drink and drive, Now I would have to die. Knowing that it ruins lives? And now the pain is cutting me, Like a hundred stabbing knives. I'm getting really scared. These are my final moments, And I'm so unprepared. As I lie here and die. I wish that I could say, 'I love you, Mum !' So I love you and good-bye. I felt proud of myself, I made a healthy choice, I got into my car, Now I'm lying on the pavement, My own blood's all around me, I'm sure the guy had no idea, So why do people do it, Mum Someone should have taught him, That it's wrong to drink and drive. Maybe if his parents had, I'd still be alive. My breath is getting shorter, Mum I wish that you could hold me Mum (Copy and Paste this if you hate drinking and driving) A black man walks into a cafe one early morning and noticed that he was the only black man there. He then said: "When I was born I was black," "When I grew up I was black," "When I'm sick I'm black," "When I go in the sun I'm black," "When I'm cold I'm black," "When I die I'll be black," "But you sir..." "When you're born, your pink," "When you grow up, you're white," "When you're sick, you're green," "When you go in the sun, you turn red," "When you're cold, you turn blue," "And when you die, you turn purple," "And yet you have the nerve to call me a colored." The black man then sat and the white man walked away... Copy this onto your site help stop racism! IF YOU BELIEVE HOMOPHOBIA IS WRONG... Please excuse the bad title for the first story; it seemed appropriate since it's about Alexandrine de Villefort. MY OCs (the French cast) Katherine Rose Alexandrine du Pierre- she is the daughter of Jacques Bernard du Pierre and his late wife, Alexandrine Marie Dubois. At the start of WWI, she is 8 years old. She was born in 1908 in Bordeaux, France. She has ink-black curly hair that reaches her lower back and very expressive blue-grey eyes. She has naturally ivory-pale skin. Katherine (Katie for short) has an affinity for music. She has perfect pitch; she’s trained herself to close off background noises and pick out the sounds that she can tolerate. She uses meditation to help her but, due to the war, has been slacking off. From a young age, she has shown talent in singing, dancing and playing instruments. She plays the violin and piano, starts dancing ballet two years before the war (she stops when the war starts), and has a mezzo-soprano voice. She mysteriously disappears after her grandmother dies, along with all of the legal documents to the Dubois properties. This happens a few months before WWI starts. Jacques Bernard du Pierre- he is Katie’s biological father and widower of Alexandrine Marie Dubois. He and Alexandrine had loved each other deeply and he was devastated when she died from eclampsia. He blames his newborn daughter, Katie, for the death of his beloved wife and abuses her physically, mentally and emotionally. He only tolerates her because of her inheritance from her maternal grandmother, the Dowager Duchess of Nice. When his mother-in-law dies from old age, he makes his move to make sure Katie doesn’t escape. He’s too late though, when Katie disappears, she also takes away the legal documents and the land deed to her grandmother’s estate so, he can’t get it. Physically, he is tall, 6 foot 5” with chestnut brown hair and ice blue eyes. Think of Jonathon Bennett (played Casey Gant in Veronica Mars and was Lohan’s character’s love interest in Mean Girls) with ice blue eyes instead of brown. Dominic de Lancret- he is a family friend and lawyer to Grandmother Maria. Dominic has Mediterranean ancestry, that’s why he has tanned skin, caramel-colored eyes and long, wavy, hazelnut hair. He’s a great orator and is a top-notch lawyer who’s very famous on both sides of the Channel. However, when it comes to girls, he’s hopeless; before her disappearance, Katie finds it funny that he is very shy around girls, except for her and she laughs at the jealous faces the debutantes make at her. When Katie disappears, he makes it his top priority to find her before her father does. Grandmother Maria Dominique Dubois- she is Katie’s maternal grandmother and her main parental figure in her first 8 years. She is kind, motherly and very worldly. Everything that Katie knows about her birth mother comes from her grandmother or Tantine. Grandmother Maria is pure French while her husband had been an important diplomat from the Qing court. When they married, Maria and her husband decided that she would keep her maiden name, Dubois, while their daughter, Alexandrine Marie, is called Yuhuan in Chinese. Maria inherited the Dubois wealth through her maternal family as a part of her dowry. It’s through this connection that Katie inherits the Dubois land. Grandmother Maria wears Victorian clothing, a lot like Violet and has silver hair with the same blue-grey eyes as her daughter and granddaughter. She dies before Katie disappears. Tantine- she is Katie’s godmother. We know her as Tantine, but she is the youngest daughter of a Comte de Orléans (In reality, the House and title technically died in 1848. But, *shrugs, this is fanfiction). Tantine has golden-blonde hair with silver-grey eyes and is exactly 5 foot. She dies in the Spanish Influenza epidemic. 42nd squad- they are a group of wounded soldiers who befriend a mysterious young girl named Alexandrine de Villefort. All of them are transferred to England, but are separated a few months later. Alexandrine de VillefortAlexandrine de Villefort is a mysterious young girl who shows up on Tantine’s doorstep one afternoon shortly after WWI is declared. She has long, curly auburn hair with sapphire-blue eyes and pale skin. All she asks is that Tantine allow her to stay on as a boarder. She is introduced to the hospital through Tantine. Alexandrine Marie Dubois- she is Katie’s late mother and Jacques’ late wife. She was very beautiful. Since she was half-Chinese, she had silky, black hair that reached her waist. She had blue-grey eyes that she inherited from her mother and was pretty tall; 5 foot 10’. She had dreams to become an authoress; Alexandrine had a magnificent literary talent and a very active imagination. When she dies in childbirth, her husband is devastated. Downton Abbey (main family) (Note: All canon characters are look exactly how they are in the canon) Robert, Earl of Grantham- he is the patriarch of the Crawley family. He is the next generation’s grandfather. (Cora’s still going to lose the baby but, he doesn’t turn to Jane in “…a moment of weakness…”-Hugh Bonneville. Cora, Countess of Grantham- she is Robert’s wife and mother to his 3 daughters. She is an American heiress and Robert married for her money. They later fell in love together. Cora is the next generation’s grandmother. Lady Mary Crawley- she is the eldest daughter of Robert and Cora. She is briefly engaged to Richard Carlisle, a newspaper magnate. After she breaks it off, she and Matthew get engaged. They marry in Season 3. In canon, she becomes a widow when Matthew dies in a car accident. In my story, both he and the other driver drive VERY safely. She is George’s mother and Saoirse’s aunt. Lady Edith Crawley-she is the middle daughter of Robert and Cora. As the middle child, she’s often the “overlooked” one. She has a talent in writing and Alexandrine loves to read her articles. She gives her a lot of encouragement. In canon, she is engaged to Anthony Strallan but is jilted by him. In my story, they are happily married and have 3 children later on (still haven’t decided on their names, yet!). Edith is George’s and Saoirse’s aunt, and sister-in-law to Matthew. Lady Sybil Branson, née Crawley- she is the youngest daughter of Robert and Cora. She is Katie’s adoptive mother and Tom’s wife. The two meet when Katie (then going by her mother’s name, Alexandrine de Villefort and the 42nd squad were fled Calais to England. They landed in Dover and were transferred to Yorkshire County, Ripon Village. Alexandrine is, at first, wary of Sybil but, they later become friends. Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham- she is the matriarch of the Crawley family. Violet is Robert’s mother, Cora’s mother-in-law, grandmother to Mary, Edith and Sybil and great-grandmother to Saoirse and George. Tom Branson- he is Sybil’s husband and the former chauffer for the Crawley. He is kind and both he and his wife are politically active. Saoirse is his daughter and George, his nephew. Matthew Crawley- he is husband to Mary and heir to Downton. Sybil and Edith are his sister-in-laws and Tom and Anthony are his brother-in-laws. The three men develop a close brotherly relationship through shared games of pool and discussing anything and everything in the library. George is his son, Saoirse his niece. Isobel Crawley- she is Matthew’s mother and the next generation’s grandmother. She is an ex-nurse and helps Sybil with the hospital. She and Sybil also convince the other family members to open Downton Abbey as a convalescent home for the wounded. Sir Anthony Strallan- He is a family friend and Edith’s fiancée. In canon, he jilts Edith at the altar because he doesn’t want her to waste her affections on an old man like himself. In my story, they get married and have 3 children together. I haven’t decided on what the names will be yet. Saoirse Branson- Saoirse is Sybil’s and Tom’s first daughter. George Crawley- George is Mary and Matthew’s first son, heir to Downton Abbey, grandson to Robert, Cora, and Isobel and great-grandson to Violet. He is Saoirse’s cousin. Lady Rose MacClare- She is the Crawley’s ward after Season 3. Family-wise, she is Violet’s great-niece and cousins to the Crawley sisters. Rose is the next generation’s grand-cousin. She is the antithesis to Alexandrine but, the two become great friends. CRAWLEY FAMILY SERVANTS Mr. Carson- he’s the Crawley’s butler. At first, he is cold to Alexandrine and doesn’t think that she should be allowed to work in the hospital; even if it is just a nursing position. Later on, he warms up to her. Mrs. Hughes- she’s the Crawley’s housekeeper. She welcomes Alexandrine into the fold and treats her with kindness. Mr. Bates- he goes through SOOO many job changes, but in S2, he is working at the tavern. He befriends Alexandrine and she helps him get back into Downton. Mrs. O’Brien- she’s very manipulative and only looks out for family *points to Alfred*. However, Alexandrine manages to worm her way into her heart and gains O’Brien’s respect. When Alexandrine first arrives, O’Brien is very distrustful of her and feels that she is up to no good. Thomas Barrow- he’s manipulative as well. But, he DOES have a legit reason (he’s gay!). Back to the matter at hand, he is allies with O’Brien before the war and during it, goes to the trenches as a medic orderly? I need to check that. After he injures himself so he can go back, he befriends Sybil and Alexandrine. While helping at the hospital, he meets and falls in love with Lieutenant Edward Courtenay. Edward has recently lost his sight due to mustard gas and Thomas, along with Sybil and Katie, help him recover. Sybil and Katie know that Thomas and Edward like each other like that but, they don’t see anything wrong with it. He is devastated when Edward commits suicide. Anna Bates (née Smith) - Anna is the Crawley sisters’ lady maid. She helps them with getting dressed and is extremely talented with hair. She is closest to Sybil. Alexandrine first meets Anna when Sybil invites her back to Downton for lunch. Mrs. Patmore- she is the Crawley family cook and queen of the kitchen. She is very motherly and caring and makes some of the best dishes this side of the channel. Alexandrine first meets her when Sybil invites her back to Downton for lunch. Daisy Mason (née Robinson) – She is Mrs. Patmore’s assistant and has been promised by Lord and Lady Crawley that she could one day take over for Mrs. Patmore when she got too old for the job. When William comes in, fatally injured, she agrees to marry him, if only to make him happy before he dies. Alexandrine first meets her when Sybil invites her back to Downton for lunch. William Mason- he is a former footman of Downton Abbey but, he got drafted into the First World War. Alexandrine has never met him and has only heard of him from the others. He still dies as in canon and Daisy still marries him hours before his death. Don’t blame me, I’m already messing up canon by keeping Sybil and Matthew, I have to balance that out by keeping two canon deaths. Ethel Parks- she is one of the new housemaids who is replacing Gwen, the one who went off to become a secretary. She has false images of grandeur and manages to get herself with child by one of the Majors who is staying at Downton. She has to leave soon after. Alexandrine has no direct relationship with her, she’s only heard of her. Joseph Molesley- he is Matthew’s butler/valet. Between the Downton Abbey servants and him, there seems to be a small rivalry. Alexandrine sees it and knows of it, but as long as it doesn’t get out of hand, she doesn’t interfere. She and Molesley have an acquaintance relationship; that is to say, they greet each other in the mornings, nod in acknowledgement of each other and will occasionally chat with each other. Alfred Nugent- he is one of the new footmen in Season 3 (which may or may not be the sequel). By the time Alfred appears, Alexandrine is part of the family now. When they meet, she sees that he is very simple-minded. She doesn’t like either him or Ivy, mainly because they have a rose-tinted view on the world. James (Jimmy) Kent- Jimmy is the other new footman in S3. He and Alexandrine initially get off on the wrong foot (he had interrupted her piano practice and she doesn’t take that lightly!). She doesn’t understand why Thomas likes him and thinks he can do better. Especially when Jimmy goes all berserk on Thomas that one time he tries to kiss him in the dark. That part is still canon, no matter how hard it’ll be for me to write it. However, when Thomas takes a beating for Jimmy during the S3 Christmas special, and when Jimmy extends an olive branch towards Thomas, she warms up to him. Ivy Stuart- she is the new kitchen maid. Because of her rose-tinted view on the world, Alexandrine feels that she is too innocent. Whenever they meet in the corridors, Ivy tries to get Alexandrine to see the good in everybody, but the latter is too broken. Edna Braithwaite- she is the high-and-mighty maid who has notions that are higher than her station in life. Alex DOES NOT like her. AT. ALL. RECURRING AND GUEST CAST (Family and family friends) Lady Rosamund Painswick (née Crawley) – Robert’s older sister. She is the Crawley sisters’ aunt. Alexandrine and she have an acquaintance relationship; they acknowledge each other and sometimes have conversations, but nothing more. George Murray- he is Robert’s lawyer. Dr. Richard Clarkson- the family doctor for the Crawleys. He also works at the village hospital during WWI. When Alexandrine arrives, he is, at first, understandably uneasy about letting her work there. However, Alexandrine proves herself to be a great help in lifting the men’s spirits. John Drake- a farmer on the Grantham estate. May Bird- she is Mrs. Crawley’s cook. Mrs. Drake- she is John Drake’s wife. Henry Lang- he is Robert’s valet during WWI. Lavinia Swire- she is Matthew’s late fiancée during WWI who dies in the Spanish flu epidemic. While she is alive, she and Alexandrine have an amiable friendship. Even though Alexandrine likes Lavinia, she thinks that Matthew and Mary are better suited to each other. Sir Richard Carlisle- he is Mary’s suitor during WWI and is a newspaper magnate. He is very powerful and influential. Alexandrine doesn’t really like him and vice versa. Vera Bates- Bates’ ex-wife and who dies in S2. Lt. Edward Courtenay- He is a lieutenant in WWI. Edward lost his eyesight due to mustard gas and is sent to Downton Abbey to recover. There, he meets Sybil, Alexandrine and Thomas. He falls in love with Thomas but, commits suicide later when they find out that he is to be sent away. His suicide is what leads Sybil and Mrs. Crawley to convince the rest of the family to open Downton as a convalescent home. Maj. Charles Bryant- he is the father of Ethel’s child. Maj. Patrick Gordon- he’s the one who tries to impersonate Patrick Crawley. Mr. Mason- he’s William’s father and Daisy’s father-in-law. Horace Bryant- he is Major Bryant’s father. Daphne Bryant- she is Major Bryant’s mother. Martha Levinson- she is Cora’s mother and the Crawley’s maternal grandmother. Sir Philip Tapsell- he’s a famous London gynecologist. Tapsell wrongly diagnoses Sybil’s pre-birth symptoms as normal instead of eclampsia. Ciarán Branson- he is Tom’s brother. He is related to the Crawley family by way of Sybil’s marriage to Tom. Reed- she is Martha Levinson’s maid. Cosmo Gordon Lang- he’s the Archbishop of York. Hugh (Shrimpie) MacClare, Marquess of Flintshire- Lord Flintshire and Rose’s father Susan MacClare, Marchioness of Flintshire- Lady Flintshire, Rose’s mother and Violet’s niece Jos Tufton- former suitor of Mrs. Patmore Branson is Tom and Barrow is Thomas. There is a difference. |
