Hi everyone, this is Mr. Patience speaking(or typing).

Now that you a little bit about me, let me be the first to tell you: Hi, this is Mr. Patience speaking(or typing). Why? Because you're special and I have a sense of humor.

Okay, now down to business. I read Naruto manga(I do NOT watch the anime) and fanfiction and I also write it. I like action, romance(with good plots), and humorous stories. I prefer to to write action/adventure. I don't like yaoi because I'm a straight guy and just don't like to read about homosexual relationships. I don't, however, dislike homosexual people (there tends to be a lot of misconceptions about non-yaoi people being homophobic. Stupid, huh?).

Concerning my opinions toward stories in general...

I very much dislike cliches. Yes, cliches. They are very boring and predictable. And that includes using the canon storyline for Naruto. For you writers out there, don't just give Naruto a bloodline limit (especially a really cliche doujutsu) and call it an "amazing new Naruto adventure" because it's not. It's just the same old crap that clogs the arteries of Naruto fanfiction, like yaoi(there's so much of it!). So when it comes to pairings, no boy/boy(well, that's just my opinion, although seriously don't use sasu/naru), naru/hina, sasu/saku or any other overused and abused pairings.

Another thing I dislike is shallow characters. I am saddened when I read a story with an amazing plot, but undeveloped and unrealistic characters. (I hope my own stories will not become one of those.) Remember, it is not how amazing your plot or action is, but how memorable your characters are. Readers will come back to your story to read further chapters because they care about what happens to the characters. Heh, amazing how attached humans can get to inanimate/imaginary objects, eh?

Rant 6/9/08

I've finally realized my mission as a writer on the this site: to produce fresh ideas and fanfiction. All the stories on the site are slowly starting to mingle together and are becoming unrecognizable from each other. I had read, no I take that back, I had begun to read some stories this morning and all of them, all of them started with our favorite blond being chased by a mob! Come on people! Have some originality!

Yeah, I know my stuff may be not-so-good, but at least it's fresh; it's something different! And I also know the saying that every story plot you can possibly think of has been written at least a thousand times; what matters, though, is the details. The details, people! And you have to show that your details are different from the beginning! I've read many summaries that make the story sound awesome, but then I read the first few paraghraphs and I click the 'back' button. Why? Well it's really quite simple: I've read that exact opening at least twenty times before! It annoys me to no end, simply put.

Phew... I feel a little better now. And I think I have actually inspired myself to write some. Anyway, let me part with one last message. This is to all writers/aspiring writers: please, for all that is good in this Earth, show some orginality. If you think of something new that no one has really done before, do it. And if you think it's pretty good, tell me.

(And when I say new, I mean the plot and stuff is totally new; not just some different pairing or some tiny detail that doesn't really impact the story.)
