Deeks is assigned to guard a little girl whose father is a high level researcher for the Navy. It's his first field assignment since recovering from his brutal ordeal. Reading the preceding two stories in this trilogy, "Judgement" and "Vengeance", will give context to this multi-chapter story, otherwise there are spoilers.
