We hear a lot about teenagers these days. Everyone's concerned about "The Teenage Problem."

In my opinion, the escapades of teenagers are blown way out of proportion. There have always been some "black sheep" among teenagers through the years. The pitiful part of it is that this small minority attracts so much attention away from the many good things the majority of teenagers accomplish.

If you think there is a new problem, listen to what Socrates wrote way back in the fifth century regarding teenagers: "Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in places of exercise.
"They no longer rise when others enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble their food and tyrannize their teachers."

My, how things have changed. Nowadays women don't marry a man for his money; they divorce him for it. How come small talk is the only thing that comes out of big mouths? The sign in the window read: No Help Wanted. As two men passed by, one said to the other, "You ought to apply-you'd be great." The friend you lie for had a liar for a friend. We fail, not because our qualities are ordinary,but because we let them remain so. Teenagers were put on earth to keep adults from wasting time on the telephone. Patience is the art of concealing your impatience. Why bother make your guests at home? If they wanted to feel at home, they would have stayed there. Experience is being able to say you done know in such a way that people dont know you don't know. Is it true in your house as well? The person who pays the phone bill gets the fewest calls. There's a brand new invention for people who want to relax in an atmosphere of quiet tranquility...a cordless phone. Nothing lasts forever-With the exception of public broadcasting week. The educated believe only half of what they see,hear or read. The smart intelligent half knows which half. He who lays all his cards on the table usually ends up playing solitare. The favorite reading of some people is between the lines. The art of negotiation is something you learn at an early age. You's be suprised at how many people get their first car by asking for a motorcycle. Don't ever slam the door...you might want to go back. Superior to kind thought is a kind word; better than both is a kind deed. It may be true that there are two sides to every question, but it is also true that there are two sides to every flypaper and it makes a big difference which side the fly chooses. It isn't easy being a drinker in the Soviet Union. For one thing have you ever heard of happy hour in Russia? Before the waitress could open her mouth, grandpa announced,"Im Bob and i'll be your customer for the next hour!" Sign on an office wall:"You can- if you will."
Below that someone had scrawled: "And you're canned if you wont." The eyes believe what they see..The ears believe what they hear. We'd all be happy to pay as we go, if only we could finish paying for where we've been.
