Author has written 4 stories for Fire Emblem, and Naruto. um...Hello. I am SacredStoneFury, but you may call me SSF. I love fanfiction, anime, manga, soccer, video games (especially Fire Emblem, which, BTW, I'm going to murder whoever created Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn for removing support endings/conversations respectively), along with many other things I don't care enough to mention at the moment. Thanks to all those who read my fanfiction, especially those who review. As I am yet to get any reviews specifying anything on which way my stories should go, I will continue with any I write as I had previously planned, aside from some minor changes made to better compliment the characters I recieve. However, no matter how many reviews I get asking for one, I will NOT write a lemon OR yaoi. shivers I am innocent, pure, (okay, maybe not those two so much) and no good at writing them! You should also probably know that I do most of my writing at school. Or at least I did. I've been having incredible trouble doing so at college. I have to pay attention in all of my classes, or I'll get left behind, unlike in high school. It doesn't help that the homework's a bitch. I also started having to do research when I started Grad School last fall. As such, I mostly only really writing during the summer months and on winter break. And lately, not even then, as I simply haven't really felt like it... I had written 10 chapters of The Evil Stone Revived, my Fire Emblem fic. However, until I got a review from someone besides the people I know from one thing or another, I would not update it. As such, it never ended up getting updated and I ended up losing the chapters when my hard drive crashed. Fail on my part for not having them saved anywhere, but perhaps it was for the best. My Naru fic, A Dozen Demons of War, is now up and running. I am using the two characters from my betas and the main character I had planned as the primary team. Obviously, it's been taking me a while to write but, considering some of the other update times I've seen on fics, you shouldn't complain too much. (I mean, seriously, some fics take like a year just to post a 5k word chapter. I've been writing that much in about a month or two!) Actually, I take it back. I haven't written anything for this story in almost two years. Feel free to complain now. My One Shot Shino fic, Comfort From Death, is done (obviously). I'd love it if people would tell me how they like it, but whatever you feel like is fine with me. Not like it's going to continue any time soon. My other Naruto one shot, The Sniffles of a Ninja, is done and posted. I personally like it because it has comedy and fluff that I'm not really used to writing, so it was somewhat of an adventure for me to write. I don't plan on having any sort of continuation for it, but if I get enough reviews urging me to keep it going, I might just try. Rant: This shall be a judge as to how good of a writer, in general, you are, IMO. Please answer these questions as honestly as you can: Do you repeat yourself (As in, have a character think something and then voice it aloud the very next sentence in almost the exact same context)? Do you have bad grammar (If you don't know how good your grammar is, take it to an English teacher and have him/her proofread it and if you come out with more than a few mistakes a page, this applies to you)? Is your description below par (Test this by going up to a friend and giving them the scene and asking if they can get a mental image of what's happening. Here's hoping you have honest friends)? Is your description too much (Do you go off on tangents describing the most pointless of things that are either obvious or unnecessary? You should be able to judge yourself on this)? Is your story in first person (Only applies for manga, shows/movies, and novels that were written in third person. You cannot change something that is so important to the story. I mean, how the hell can you take Naruto, which constantly switches POV between scenes, and make it a first-person story? You can't! Don't do it!)? Is your OC a Mary Sue/Gary Stu (If you don't know what this is, drop the keyboard and walk away now. If you can't make it relatively unSue-ish, then don't write it!)? Do you spell a lot incorrectly (This one is more of a nuisance than anything because I can usually decipher what it is supposed to say, but if you can't distinguish between words like soldier and solider or definately and defiantly, this may be a problem)? I will probably add more questions to this rant when I remember what else annoys the hell outta me in fanfiction. Now before I begin the assessment, I tell you now that I don't care what your reviewers say about your writing. More than half the reviewers out there can't even write a decent portfolio piece, much less a fiction of novel proportions. You cannot judge yourself based on reviews. Hell, I've seen an amazing fic have a flame before. Thus, do not come in here thinking that just because you have fifty reviews saying that you are a good writer that I will judge you similarly, nor that you should judge yourself similarly. Just a mild warning. To those of you who think you can write, but obviously can't (4-7 yes's): please, do us all a favor and quit writing now. It's just plain embarassing. To those of you who can write but still need improvement (1-3 yes's): do what you can to improve it. If you're in school, I may recommend you take your chapters to your English professor/teacher so that he/she can tell you what needs to be done to make it better. To those of you who can really write (0 yes's): please, send me a fic you have written. If you pass my judgment, then you have attained the title of what I consider a 'fanfiction god'. But a warning: I will probably be a lot harsher than your friends, or perhaps even teacher, were when/if they tested the answers to the previous questions. There are few people who are good enough for me to consider them of this caliber. This list includes: Lifethane, Iced Blood, and S'TarKan. Any others on my favorites list are either close friends (as with Rinfanalltheway) or writers, close to, but not up to my high standards in this field. Honestly, if I rated my own works, I would probably end up giving them a two. Not for a lack of confidence, mind you, cause I know I do well what many authors on this site can't. I'm just realistic about it. I know what I do wrong, and I try to fix it. It just takes time for me to do that. It should be the same for you. Take that into account when you grade your own works, especially if you read any of mine. I realize that very few people will read this and that even fewer will take it seriously, but if what I'm doing here will help impove/get rid of one of the innumerable crappy fics I have found on this site, it was worth the ten minutes it took to do this rant. Besides, it was nice getting it off my chest... End Rant Anyway, here's a list of my favorite animes and games that I like in no particular order: all Fire Emblems, most Final Fantasy's, Golden Sun, Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia/Phantasia, Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Flame of Recca, Negima, Summon Night: SS (I and II), 999 (If you don't know what this is, look it up. It's EPIC), The World Ends With You and many, many more I just don't care to think of right now. I may end up writing stories on any of these topics in the future, though that's fairly doubtful outside of Naruto. FANFICTION: MY ANTI-DRUG. because, who has time for drugs if you're reading and plotting and writing and checking reviews? If you have never pictured yourself in an anime/manga dimension, hooking up with the character of your choice... you have a helluva lot of will-power. Two things in this world are infinite the universe and human stupidity and i'm not too sure about the universe. (one of my favorite quotes) | |||||||
