While hitting dead ends in his own search for answers, Korai Kayaba heard of a player known to many as the Absolute Sword, Zekken. Determined to understand the drive to survive that he never experienced, even amongst tragedy, he encounters her, as well as the demons of his past. Will he be able to find his answers with her, or will his past catch up with him?

This starts two months before the first episode of the anime and will eventually follow the events of "Your lie in April" but with a bit of a "what if" element.
