Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter.

My tumblr - full of pictures, quotes, and music related to my fanfics as well as research notes and my ideas about characters both canon and non. It's mostly written for myself, as a new multimedia way of planning my fics, but I like sharing :)

Avid fanfic reader for a long time; always was a fanfic writer but I just recently started (within the last few years) started to share some of them, since my writing is... eh. I read mostly HP fanfics - I started out as SSxOC but I'm moving into the SSxHG, HGxDM, and fics from the Marauder era as my tastes "evolve." I also read some other fanfics depending on my mood. Used to read a lot of Star Trek fanfics, and have been writing one on and off for 3 years now. Big Game of Thrones fan but I've yet to really see a fic that I can't stop reading.

Story progress for curious, wayward readers: I finally am ready to start writing again after a long break where I was disenchanted with writing (school stress? I don't know). So here's a stream of consciousness update on where I am!

Letters to Ferdinand: Currently working on Letters to Ferdinand. I fell out of love with it and was trying to find Marcelle's voice and was also worried that Snape was too... off, but I just reread what I've written and decided it's not too bad and I have enough ideas to carry it forward until at least the end of Goblet of Fire and then depending on how Marcelle pans out she may stick around until Order of the Phoenix.

Indelible: I have a lot of snippets for Indelible, but the actual plot/focus and how dark Snape will be in that fanfic is not yet known. Another issue is the exact nature of Alice's character, but that will be set depending on how I will write Snape. I know right now he's definitely not the Snape of Letters to Ferdinand, which I always intended to be lighter in the first place. I fear she will turn out too cold, too lifeless, but that could actually work to my advantage and could be her character flaws - I've read some pretty boring original characters (last one I read I almost commented, because I was so bothered but then it turned out the author died of cancer and I just couldn't criticize a dead person). Maybe I can challenge myself to make boring interesting.

Anyway, I need to sort out Letters first before Indelible. I've really sort of moved on from the whole "Snape falls in love with a student" genre of stories because I'm not 16 anymore and it comes off as so weird to me now haha, like what could a 16/17 year old have to offer someone like Severus Snape? So either Snape is going to be really dark or I'm going to have to rewrite pretty much everything I've written and everything will feel for naught. The problem I've noticed is, as I get older, what I'm interested in and how I feel about certain things I've written and my opinion on how well it was written changes, so with Indelible, I would have loved it 5 years ago, but now there are only certain aspects about it that I like. In fact, it was on a whim that I wrote the prologue and put it up since I realized Alice's narrative would be so much more interesting if it was a reflection for a trial. So glad I did that since I've thought of some interesting non-Alice centric chapters I could do.

Other: I have a lot of ideas that I start and don't finish. One of them is another SnapexOC/SiriusxOC fic which won't get out of my head but I think I've over-thought it and now it needs time to sit so I can come back to it with a fresh mind. I also need to learn to like Sirius in order for that story to work, so I'm finding my inner Sirius Black at the moment :P.

The other fic that used to be stuck in my head, but is now on a hiatus from my limited creativity, was a Star Trek fanfic. Not much to say about that. I have a terrible fascination with inserting new characters into stories because I love trying my hand at character development rather than keeping characters in character (the latter is so much harder for me, not that my original characters are so deep and complex, but it's easier and funner to write someone new in). So I have a new, interesting character (Spock's cousin) but she's not ready yet. Had an Amanda/Sarek fic going on for a while but Amanda evolved into the OC. Decided writing about a Vulcan falling in love just wasn't that fun after a few chapters.

Lastly, I came up with this whole long backstory for Charlotte Norton, chemist/potions mistresse (?) who was just mentioned in passing in the prologue of Indelible. It's set pre-Harry, Snape's still recovering from the loss of Lily and is a pretty dislikable guy. Originally, I said she was the "late Charlotte Norton" because I didn't want to deal with having her pop in to testify too, because I had always intended Charlotte to be a past lover of Snape, since I didn't see him collaborating with someone on potions long enough to get a publication/such a novel invention out of it. But after investing some time thinking about why she died/what she could have died from, I realized I had the opportunity to write one of those "Snape falls in love with an apprentice" fanfics hehe.
