Five years had passed since Asakura Hao had won the Shaman Fight in Tokyo; he still had not obtained the Spirit King however, and it was said that he never would. Many places had been ravaged by shamans fighting off Hao's new forces - those who aimed for a new world order and were full of greed for power. These shamans, while often stronger than many who strived for good reasons, were even more often beaten. It is said that the King of Spirits decides everything, and in that belief, it is believed that he had not yet made a decision to as to which "side" would win, though he was obviously leaning against Hao.
