My background is almost all science yet I seem to always be tied to a keyboard writing. I guess now I will give fan-fiction a shot. I work for a non-profit organization and also play piano in a band. Plots come easy to me, but writing any fiction with dialogue is way harder than technical writing or news articles. It makes me wish I actually took an english class.
