In the year 2154, the citizens under the Council suffered a rude awakening when they were assaulted by strange foes beyond imagining, and were aided by mighty allies, who operated beyond reason. With the technologies of several alien races at its disposal, humanity had undergone a technological revolution. It advanced at such a rapid pace, far exceeding many expectations. Soon however, the humans learned that they shared their galaxy with yet another group of sentient alien life, but to mankind's horror and confusion, these aliens were not the sort they expected at all.

Heavily AU. Thanks to a cold, humanity never discovers the Prothean ruins on Mars, and barely develops Mass Effect technology. They step out onto the galactic stage after the Reapers have harvested every other species, and find the crumbs left behind by the turians, asari, and salarians. Now they must adapt to fight a foe who won't be seen for far longer than human history.

Humanity's reaction to the discovery of the archives on mars was very different from what happened in the games. The militaristic Empire of man is preparing to expand.
