There's nothing like embarking on the journey of writing a story. Where else can you meet such interesting people, facing the unknown and arriving utterly exhilarated at journey's end?
...all at your own pace, and in most cases, not knowing yourself exactly how your characters are going to get there!

I enjoy writing in the fantasy genre because it allows me to create my own worlds--and the symbolism within them. For while I may change things /slightly/ the humanity and complexity of those characters does not change.

Greatest influences to my writing:
Lloyd Alexander/
J.R.R. Tolkien/
Terry Brooks/

Lloyd Alexander has an incredible way with words--simple, yet profound. His intimate storytelling style is delightful and unique.

J.R.R. Tolkien--well, who doesn't recognise that name among the greatest of fantasy authors. But what Tolkien does in creating a 'whole' world and history leaves me almost mute. And while the Lord of the Rings series is his most well-known, The Silmarillion is simply amazing in terms of making that world /real./

Terry Brooks--proof positive that a person who loves to write as a hobby--while keeping their day job--can eventually break into print and do what they love.
(Gee...sound like me and what I'd like to do...;)
