After a while, dead people walking around is nothing new. I'm use to it now. I've seen so much death, so many people torn apart in front of me that it barely phases me. I'm so tired of running. I don't want to survive, I want to feel like I'm living, like I'm not one of those corpses. I need a place where I can simply be. (Rated T for mentions of suicide, language, and violence.)

Hermione's wedding night is everything but perfect for the young witch. Her new husband and long-time friend, Ronald, is passed out drunk and she thinks upon her life leading up to that night. Hermione falls asleep, despondent and alone. When she wakes up the following morning, she is still in bed with her husband. But it isn't Ronald Weasley.

Hermione is the one who finds Draco weeping in the bathroom. He flees. She chases him into the Room of Requirement, and the room forces them to face their greatest fears together in order to find the door.

He felt something close to pity for the woman in front of him. And while that disturbed Draco to no end, what really disgusted him most of all was the harrowing fact that someone or something had broken Hermione Granger’s spirit beyond recognition.
