![]() Author has written 8 stories for Emergency. Amazing what a disability will lead you to...I've been off work for over five months, and found myself writing fan fiction for the first time! (How's that for alliteration?) I am ready to take the plunge and offer my 'child' to public scrutiny...I haven't focused on medical descriptions because I'm not trained in that area; what I've written comes from experience, both professional and personal so all my stories and vignettes are based loosely on actual events. When I was a teenager, I spent every minute I could at Station 51 and Rampart Hospital, religiously watching every available broadcast. Roy and Johnny taught me that there were strong, kind, caring, seemingly ordinary men doing extraordinary things because they loved their jobs, even when it was scary, or messy, or people didn't appreciate their sacrifices. Dixie, Dr Brackett, and Dr Early showed me that helping was a vocation, a high calling that meant offering your best self. I was inspired, and comforted. I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have five amazing kids (mostly adolescents!) - and we all like each other very much. I work as an itinerant school psychologist, with most of my schools in rural areas. Because you may be wondering, my disability is hemiplegic migraines - makes it hard to drive to the valley! But we're working on it... ...I'm back working 80 percent, so I haven't been able to complete "Jane" until now. I have a couple of new stories in the works that I hope to get posted soon... ...you can tell my medical condition by how frequently I post; when I'm working, I just don't have the time. Ah, well, at least I'm being 'productive' in some small way...btw, I don't say it in my stories, but I do love reviews and read and respond to every one who takes the time to give me feedback. And so, life moves on. Thanks to all who read my stories, especially those who 'favourited' my work - I was thrilled you liked what I was offering. For those who took the time to write to me, I thank you very, very much. It was sincerely appreciated. Best wishes to all you Emergency fans and writers of fan fiction. May all your adventures be the ones you choose to have. |
