I have been an active reader for almost 15 years now so I know what I like and what squicks me.On FF I read almost only crossover, mostly the Harry Potter kind but sometimes Buffy or some other fandom will draw my attention.

I'm currently looking for a BETA for a HP/Twilight story I'm writing, It will be EmC/HP (notable side-pairings, Lily Potter/Carlie Swan, EW/BS, RL/SB), non-magic AU, MPREG and rather long. If you would like to beta for me or know someone who might then please sen me a PM.

A few things that I dislike in stories:

No WARNINGS

If you write het, warn about it.

If you write slash warn about it.

If you write femslash, warn about it!

If you write a story that will become a m/f/m threesome that story needs warnings for slash, het and threesome.

If you write a story and is says it's going to be Edward/Harry slash but your write the first few chapters Harry/Ginny then you should warn for both het and slash.

If you write a gen story that still has a few cannon realtionships in it then you still warn for them, Gen means NO ROMANTIC AND/OR SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS AT ALL.

If people die, warn about it.

If there is a sexscene warn about it.

Basically, WARN ABOUT EVERYTHING, even strong language should have warnings!!!!

Bashing

Bashing is something that feels so strange to me, if you don't like a character but have to use him/her in you story, do it with class even if you make him/her a bad person do it with style and make me believe in your POV instead of making me mad and angry about bashing. If you don't really need to use a character you hate then don't, no need to use over a 1000 words about how bad/stupid/disgusting someone is if yhe character does not actually play a major role in the story.

Fem!Harry

I HATE fem!Harry (very popular in Twilight crossovers). If you want to write a Mary Sue at least be honest about it.

If you want to write a het story about a female character then write about a female character that is already in the books, there are lots of them to choose from!

I don't have anything against genderbenders, infact I like them. But the the story should be about the genderbending not about som Mary Sue avatar running around named Violette or Elisabeth Potter or something. If you want to write Mary Sue then fine do that but don't kid yourself and others into thinking it's something else!!!!

Supporting characters taking over the story

All Harry's friends and family does not have to go everywhere he does. Give the guy some space and stop trying to cram all these characters together in your story and pairing them up. It almost always ends the same you have no idea what you are writing and have way to many plotlines going on to keep the readers interested. What do you expect will happen when you have ten or more people trying to be the maincharacer, all of them with there own storylines and romantic problems.

Keep it simple!

OOC

At least TRY to keep mostly in character, OOC can be annoying as hell to read. There you are reading a great story but you can't enjoy it because you are to busy being pissed off because Harry is suddenly a genius that loves to read and hates his friends and DADA! As a reader I hate it when that happens! Some small changes are fine, can be great even but if you change to much and it's no longer Harry you are writing about.

Harry in a bad clothes

Have you EVER met a guy in a silkshirt and thought "Hey sexy shirt!"? The few times I have met man in a silk shirt my thought goes more like this "What a slimeball!". Silk shirts are just not hot on any guy EVER!!! A simple t-shirt and a pair of jeans are plenty sexy enough, maybe a button down shirt open over if you want to be a little extra fancy.
