![]() Author has written 2 stories for Naruto, and Bleach. Friday, July 10th, 2009 - I just realized... I actually have a thing with musicals. I mean, I haven't seen a lot but I absolutely love 'Little Shop of Horrors'. Or maybe it's just the pure badass emitting from the singing plant? Hmm... interesting. Anyway, today I came up with a... plot... for my first story. OR at least the first I will be uploading. Something simple. I'm fairly sure it has been done before; Kyuubi's sealing has a stronger effect on Naruto then depicted in cannon. Or something like that... Hmmm... Sunday, July 12th - Know what I love? The Japanese band The Pillows. I don't understand Japanese, but I mostly listen to just the music anyway. But when I do find translated lyrics, I find the song that much more irresistible. I once said that The Pillows were the Beatles of Japan, and I will stand by that statement for a long, long time. Anyway, searching for inspiration, I decided to listen to a couple of their songs. The name of one caught my attention; "No Self Control". I was thinking, maybe I could make a story where Naruto is a bit less of the bleeding heart he is in cannon. He does what he wants, when he wants and screw the consequences. Idea number two has been born! Wednesday, July 15th - Finally I have come up with something. I've conjured up a simple Naruto x Bleach crossover to use as a sort of writing outlet. When I feel I need to write something, I'll work on that. It is also a way for me to test my writing abilities, to help me get better at writing through practice. On a second note, I have recently played Overlord II. It's an addictive and funny game that I spent an entire day and a half, without sleep, playing. I love how the world works and the potential for a crossover. I can see Naruto conquering the shinobi nations from his throne in the Netherworld. It'll be fun to write when I get to it. This also makes me want to write a Disgaea crossover, if only to have a Naruto x Etna romance. I mean, who can resist the charms of the great Beauty Queen/Demon lord Etna? Thursday, July 16th, 11:28pm - "Power...Give me more power!" I really like the DMC series. One was good, two was... okay, three was fantastic, and four was epic. By now it should be easy to tell where I am going with this. I'm going to make a DMC crossover with Naruto, but nothing like the ones I have read so far. Naruto won't be adopted/trained by Dante, Virgil, or Nero. He won't be said to be such-and-such's decedent in a disguised attempt to replace Naruto altogether so that I can write Nero, Dante, or Virgil in his place (You know who you are, or you've probably read it already). He may or may not be someones decedent, but he will still be Naruto through in through. This also brings me to a Fanversal question. I noticed, mostly in crossovers, Naruto always gets a wardrobe change. Yes, we all hate the bright orange jumpsuit, so getting rid of it isn't so bad. It's even better when it's for the sake of him being a ninja. But I have noticed a pattern in a lot of fics. Some people use the excuse of 'being a better ninja' only to make him very un-ninja, just with better color coding. Trench coats? Anko makes it work, but then again she is a jounin. It's sort of like a very feasible argument about hair I read. Having long hair makes you vulnerable because enemies can grab it and even strangle you with it. Only jounin, who are very powerful, usually have long hair because they know their enemy won't get the chance. But on Naruto, a genin who is completely oblivious to all but the most obvious things, no. It'll sweep the ground making a trail. It'll get caught on something. It'll get in the way of fighting. Unless the Naruto is very OOC and suddenly an entirely too capable fighter, a trench coat is out. But the one thing that always gets me... steel-toed boots. I mean, what is fandoms obsession with Naruto and steel-toed boots? Once again, this is Naruto. Boots are anything but stealthy, which is why the ninjas in their world all wear sandals. They are comfortable, easy to move in, and make about as much noise as a slipper. It seems to me like the boots are in every fic where Naruto gets a new look. How about giving him something he might actually wear? Think of all the styles of clothing in the Narutoverse and go from there. Stop thinking about all the modern clothing we have in our world, because what we would wear as a ninja, they would probably laugh at. Heavy jackets with steel-toed boots, or ridiculous amounts of armor. Can't anything ever be simple? I was sooner give Naruto a t-shirt and sweats then a bunch of armor and boots. Aaaanyway... uh... where was I...? Oh, right, my story ideas. So far: DMC, Disgaea,Overlord crosses & 'No Self Control' and Unnamed Kyuubi-themed fic. Monday, July 20th - If you've played it, I know you love it. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona. And I mean P3 and P4. I first found P3 in a family video, all alone and un-rented mainly because no one had even heard of it. My buddy was with me at the time and I remember the unsure look he gave me when I picked it up. You see, someone had rented it prior, one of the few before us. I had seen the case and thought it sounded at least semi-entertaining, you know, one of those game you get to pass the time until you get something you really wanted. Every time we went to Fam-Vid and it wasn't in, I'd begin obsessing. I mean, what was it about? Was it even fun? How were the characters? Finally we managed to rent it one day, and my buddy was skeptical, he didn't see what was so special about it. I played it a couple of hours, thoroughly hooked. I loved it. In a rare moment of selflessness (Trust me, I'm a stingy bastard) I let my buddy play. He didn't even seem to want to play, but was somewhat interested. He played the game for twelve hours straight. We both became fans of the game and when P4 was announced (see: looked up on the net) we had to get it. My buddy got it before me, reserving it and what not, and I got the chance to play it sometime later (He didn't want me to beat it before him or something since I always seem to do it) and, once again, I fell in love with the game. P3 had that occult feel that drew you in and P4 had characters you could relate to or something like that. Sadly, I have yet to see a crossover that has been completed, despite being done well. It's a shame really, I always wondered how Naruto and Naoto would look together. |
